"The property is not kept very well. The carpet was dirty with food smashed in them. It’s old and dingy. The room keys do not work most of the time leading to many front desk trips. The beds are not comfortable and extremely bouncy! The front desk staff was very unprofessional. They tell you on their website to come and relax in their hot tub…that does not work and has been shut down since the last time I was there a few YEARS ago. It was my son’s birthday and he chose this hotel or I would have spent my money at one of the higher class hotels that are in the area. We will not make this mistake again."

"I have stayed at this hotel for the Shorty’s Strictly Bluegrass Festival for MANY years and in the past have always had wonderful treatment by the staff. Their treatment of the bluegrass festival guests this year was disgusting!!!! We were treated like we were the scum of the earth. The hotel breakfast in the past had always been excellent. This year they had no sausages or bacon and was much skimpier than in past years. Some of the staff members were less than pleasant and it was reported that some were heard making derogatory remarks about the guests. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and do not recommend it to anyone!"

"I felt the need to review to help other families when planning your stay. The room DOES NOT have blackout curtains and it gets VERY bright very early as it’s right by the water with no trees around. We had to hang a comforter and towels on the window and it still wasn’t dark enough. Also, the pillows are very cheap/ uncomfortable and the sheets are scratchy. I’ll be bringing my own pillow next time for sure! The keys rarely work. We had 4 at one point. On the plus side- the hotel was very clean and the common spaces are great. The fireplace is nice as well as the bar and the breakfast area. There was a lot of breakfast food included! I also used the exercise room. It’s small but has everything you need including free weights. We did not swim so cannot comment on the pool but it seemed popular. I hope the review is helpful to families!"

"Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy our stay. Such a bummer. We stayed for 3 nights and all 3 days the pool was unavailable for several hours due to chemical imbalance. It would be fixed one minute and not the next. Our door handle was broken so we had to move it just right for the key to work, we were locked out a couple of times. We specifically chose this hotel for the pool and hot tub for our 2 little kids. Not only was the pool closed a lot, the hot tub has been closed for months and there is NO mention of it anywhere online. I will say the room was clean and the staff were very friendly! Although we did have 2 different housekeepers randomly open our door without knocking because they thought we checked out. The hotel is beautiful with much to explore. It was quiet 2 out of the 3 nights. Breakfast was yummy. But all in all I don't know if we'll be back."

"I can't say enough good stuff about this hotel. My room was huge! And very clean. The bed was comfortable, and I even had my own balcony! The breakfast was nice and hot, plenty of choices and Sue was a very kind. I will definitely be staying here again."
