"I cannot say enough nice things about Houston Cancer Institute. From Renee at the front desk, Lisa in the office, Roland (Dr. Scouros' PA), the lovely nurses in the Chemo room to Dr Scouros herself -- everyone is so nice and friendly. They always call me by name and treat me with respect. I have been a patient for four years and am now in partial remission. I have been extremely satisfied with my treatment program and the excellent care I have received from Houston Cancer Institute."

"I recommend that you DO NOT USE Houston Cancer Institute. In 2015-2016, I had to switch doctors due to insurance change, so I started going here (to Maria S). The first thing you find out, is that there is always a wait. Whatever your appointment time, make sure you give at least an hour wait as that is what it was for me. I know a lot of doctor's offices are like this, but here I think it is worse. And they never apologize or say why there is a wait. The doctors were decent, at first. Nothing special, just run of the mil, no bedside manner types that look at paperwork/labs instead of you when you talk. I also thought it was odd that they didn't have a lab or tech to take labs on site. You had to make an appointment which a 3rd party to get your labs. All other doctor offices I went to always had one on site, but hey, I'm sure many places are like this. In my story, my unique condition passed and was told that I no longer needed to go to annual visits unless symptoms started again. (This was in 2017). Well, this year after a lab from my PCP, it was discovered my symptoms had started again. So I called and requested an appointment, the person working took my info and said they would call me back to set up the appointment. Sure, this was odd, but maybe they were busy. NOTHING. NO CALL. The next morning, I called again to set up an appointment to be told the same exact thing, that they could get back to me. I then requested to send the doctor a message as I was at a point that I didn't know if it would be better to make an appointment or just go to an ER. They took down the message (supposedly). NOTHING. Next day I call, again. I asked about if an appointment had been made, or if there was a response, and again nothing. The person I talked to didn't even act as if there was an issue. She did a sort of verbal shrug and mentioned that she had given the message, of which I would not be surprised either if she had or had not. After she started on the spill about making an appointment, of which I'm sure it would be the whole "we will call you back" bit to which I had enough and knew it was a joke. Unacceptable. If they stated they were busy and unable to help, or some other issue, fine. I understand. But to ignore patients when you are called a "Cancer Institute?" Completely unacceptable. I hate to think how many people have been treated this way by them, people that are scared and worried as they might have a serious health condition. Especially in light of the new Corona scare. In my opinion, do not use any of the doctors here. Edit 2/2021: I wanted to address Houston Cancer Institute's pathetic "response." Not once did they ever reach out to me, even through I would be in their system and it's not like I hide my name, which leads me to believe they HAVEN'T CHANGED ANYTHING. Not once did they contact to ask whom I spoke with, what days I called, what happened on, etc. They just replied here to try and look good saying they have made adjustments which I find that VERY doubtful. My guess is someone with a tiny bit of online knowledge figured out that Google has reviews and looked at themselves. When they saw the reviews were negative they figured they had to respond and say something, no matter what it was. Again, this is a place people go when they are at their worst in more ways than one. A place where people should be treated with dignity and respect. If you go here, expect to be seen as nothing more than a dollar sign."

"Dr. Scouros, Roland (RN) and Maria (admin) turned out to be absolutely amazing with my moms stage 4 lung cancer treatments. I admit I had my doubts at first, but after nearly a year later I’m grateful. They have been there for us especially now that the cancer has spread. Dr. Scouros have shown patience and great bedside manner with my mom during this time. She is definitely on top of the treatment needed to fight this cancer. I pray that God continue to bless Dr. Scouros with the knowledge to heal her patients."

"I have been under treatment for two primary cancers - bladder stage 4 and separately esophageal cancer. She has led the effort coordinating with both a radiology cancer DR. and digesive DR. Results have been positive with much progress. In addition her staff at Houston Cancer institute has been outstanding in support including the MA assistants and the chemo nurses. Most helpful, they satellite offices on the South side and North side of Houston to reduce travel time for their patients especially compared to going into the Medical Center."

"What is more important than your health? When you put your life and faith in a doctor you have hope in. Dr. Scouros diagnosed me with cancer some time back. I have waited till now to say I did not and do not have cancer, I had a low white cell count that was corrected a long time ago buy an honest reputable doctor. Thank God I went to an honest Doctor for a second opinion after I sensed Dr. Scouros was only in it for the money. She created a so called treatment plan just to make a steady income each week. She is a proven fraud, beware it's your emotions, your life and more important your families future she will destroy."
