"I am shocked and appalled at the lack of professionalism simply based on inquiry phone calls. I called today to find out more about services offered at this practice and the first time I was disconnected, the second time I got through and was immediately put on hold with very little introduction and courtesy. I was already feeling reluctant at this point and after waiting on hold for several minutes I gave up and hung up. I am a doctor and have seen and worked in many clinic situations and positions and so far was very unimpressed. Then about 20 minutes later I got a phone call back and the woman who happened to be the counselor, asked if I had called. I said no and I don't know why, I think I was just caught off guard. She confronted me and said yes you did. Then I said I had found someone else and she hung up on me! I couldn't believe it. I called her back and confronted her for hanging up and asked if this is how she treats all her clients. She corrected me that she doesn't have clients she has patients. (Don't even get me started on that!). She then said she was having trouble with her phone connection. I said, on the last conversation I had with you, because it seemed to me like you hung up after I told you I found someone else. She denied it and said she said thank you and hung up. I said well I must have misunderstood because I never heard that. Then she proceeded to tell me how she has a private practice and you don't just call around to find a counselor. I said oh really, because I got your information from google and how else am I supposed to find out about where to go? Then she tried to be sweeter in her disposition and asked what kind of counseling I was looking for. I told her mental health counseling. SHE LAUGHED AT ME AND SAID GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe it. I said excuse me what about that is funny?!?! She had no response to that and I finally said again as a doctor and professional myself I am so disappointed in her behavior and level of respect and professionalism. I didn't say this but just food for thought, what if I had been suicidal and she laughed at me like she did?!?! Absolutely inappropriate."
