Capital One Auto Finance

"I know there are thousands of Capitol One members. I am just one customer that you probably won't even listen to or help. I have been a member for two years. I have 3 credit cards with Capitol One which I pay every month. I normally don't fill out loan forms because my credit it to low. So I tried one time 2 weeks ago. I was asked to submit bank statements and pay stubs. I submitted also my W2 forms 2021 and 2022. After a day or two I received a letter from Capitol One that I was being approved. I started getting calls and text messages from over 10 dealers in Las Vegas. I was shocked and overwhelmed with all the calls. I never contacted any of them. They contacted me. Someone at Capitol One had told them to contact me becauseI was approved. I went to see a Honda dealer in Henderson on Feb 19 and one on the 20th. I went to Centennial Enterprise. I filled out the form to purchase a 2021 Honda HRV. I told the salesman that I had an approval letter from Capitol One. The letter was not in the system when they checked. Capital One denied me. I didn't know that my approval letter had expired. I was upset and disappointed embarrassed that my letter was gone. Here is the numbers of the Pre-qualified Approval letter Reference number 264xxxxxx. I am very upset that Capitol One lied to me. I ended up getting approved by some company I have never heard of. My Percentage rate was way to high 16.9%. Now I have to find a company to refinance this loan with. I am now thinking about paying off my Capitol One credit cards and canceling my account with them. Nobody should go through what I went true. I just received a letter from Capitol One Auto Finance. Their reason for denying was that one or more Capitol One credit card had exceeded the credit limit. "Worse auto finance paying system in the world! They want to charge you a $8 service fee just for paying your bill using a debit card. Why tf would you charge me a fee for something that you got right away? Yeah I’ll be refinancing through someone else soon! I don’t even want to finish the terms of my loan now! I should be able to pay how tf I choose to pay as long as Capital One gets it!! Don’t finance a car through them go elsewhere ! They are only good for their credit cards! I’ll be sending their goofy azz checks going forward until I refinance elsewhere!"

"I’m pretty sure the reps just say they will do something and then hang up and never do it. I’ve been trying for OVER A YEAR to have my automatic payment align with my due date and it is never changed. I had made a manual payment in order to be ahead on my car to switch the dates which I was told to do and then the automatic payment went out TWICE that month (once for the old date and once for the new date). Essentially I had made my car payment three times that month. Putting me ahead but then my date never changed AGAIN. So I was have an automatic payment go out two weeks past my due date for over a year, which eventually kept pushing me back (unknown to me at the time) and recording as late payments. I take blame for not staying on top of them but it’s ridiculous that I have to call almost every day to ask someone to do their job. I could go on but best advice is to literally finance your vehicle with anyone else."

"The credit card app is wonderful and I've been able to pay my bills without any problem, but the auto loan portion of the app is garbage. I attempted to make a payment 3 times with the same bank account info that I use to pay my credit card and it got returned every single time. Their customer service reps could not help me either. Kept saying I was rejecting it or my financial institution was. It was neither of us. I called my bank all 3 times and they said they never saw any request from capital one. When I asked if I could just make a payment with my debit card over the phone to get it taken care of they said there was a fee they could not waive. That's ridiculous since it's definitely not my problem the app isn't working properly. They said there would be no fee involved when the account is 22 days past due and I call in to make a payment! So backwards. In the end, I never got to talk to someone higher up and I had to get my bank to cut a check and send it to them. Very disappointed that I'm going to have to do that every time. I might refinance with another company as soon as I can."

"I can’t believe this company is even allowed to operate as is. I paid off my auto loan three years ago and called countless times, never to receive the title. I felt like I was speaking to a robot every single time I called. Maybe one out of fifty reps I spoke with seemed to even sympathize with me or want to be remotely helpful. I eventually just gave up completely and had someone else try to retrieve my title (for a car I paid off three years ago! Should be easy right?). This company has no respect for their customers and is just another greedy bank. I will never finance through them again."
