"Rickety bridge if memory serves my right, but beautiful area and of course on the Illinois side in Chester, there's a Popeye statue and home to the creator of all things Popeye. This stop just before the bridge on the Illinois side has wonderful bathrooms and a welcome center, a cool Time Capsule and of course, Popeye. Good amount of parking space. Great place for a quick stop to Missouri, and another bridge to Kentucky is 5 minutes away! In addition to the confluence of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. That's cool to see the 2 different waters merge also!"

"I grew up with Popeye and this park honors the creator of Popeye with a statue. There are many more around Chester. The small visitor center has clean restrooms and a map of all the Popeye-related statues. Extra frosting with the big bridge and the Mississippi River. A great viewpoint from the park!"

"A really cool place, especially if you like history. There's info about Popeye and his creator, Lewis & Clark's expedition, the Chester Bridge and the town of Chester, Illinois. The statue of Popeye is really neat and there are many other statues of Popeye characters set up around the town of Chester."
