"My daughter used to go to this school and we both hated it. The problem with these new schools is that they are staffing recently graduate teachers with absolutely no prior teaching experience. Don't get me started on the bullying. This is a serious issue. TEACHERS/STAFF PLEASE keep an eye out for your students while in your care."

"My boys go to this school and I feel that they don't give the education that they need especially knowing one of my sons have irlen syndrome and I been trying to get help since 1st grade and here he is in 3rd grade and behind on reading and spelling. They told me the will not pull him out of class to help him since he is staying in the 60s and 70s and we know as all parents we want more for our kids and want them to make good grades. I don't like this school at all and just want to add they took out spelling words in 2nd grade and was only given sight words to learnand that is other reason that my kid is behind. And they don't have buses for the kids that don't have rides home. If I could rate this school as a half star I would"

"I have been impressed with the administration and staff at Cypresswood Elementary. Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Smith, has shown a genuine interest in ensuring children learn and thrive. I see this not just with my own child, but all children. I am happy with the academic progress that my daughter has made at Cypresswood Elementary. I feel the school supports parent involvement and has been welcoming each time that I have been on campus."

"It's a nice great teachers but with the rest of the staff it's seems to be a sexist staff. Because my wife came to Christmas party last semester and without a background check let her in. Today for a Easter party I have to clear a background before spending time with my children in their classes. When it comes to open house no background checks and I am sure there are more people with bad backgrounds then others. All because I am a Hispanic male? Really!?! Yes I am a caring father I provide for my children and apologize for those children that don't have their fathers around or don't want to be around. The district needs to change this"

"I am new to the Houston area and this is my children's first year going to school in Houston. Going into it i knew it would be a culture shock but i didn't imagine having issues where my children attend school. The campus monitor and receptionist are the main reason for my rating. They are the face of the school and one of the first people you have to interact with when entering the school. My experiences with them are horrible every time i come to my children's school and it sucks for the office staff because they are gossiping about the incidents and looking at me differently instead of being above foolishness. They've created an unwelcoming environment to the point i cant be as involved with my children at school as i am use to. My children have great teachers. I am not in agreeance with their parent/lunch scheduling. I also do not agree with being harassed for my drivers license every time i come to drop off/pick up my children ( I am the same person and still their parent every time i come). This school also does not enforce/ encourage outside play which i think makes a difference on a childs education having a break away from learning and being able to be social with their friends. Other than this it's a nice school and the rest of the staff seems friendly."
