"TLDR; Don’t choose her if you struggle with mental health. Office and nurses are great, but Dr. Shah takes the “look on the bright side” approach to mental illness regardless of how much you’re struggling. While their office staff and nurses are excellent, and the resident I saw was attentive and compassionate, Dr. Farah Shah is not the attending to see if you struggle with mental health. When she asked about my depression screening, I was immediately in tears because of how bad my mental health has been lately, and I was very clear in my screening that my depression has been so severe that I am struggling to function on a basic human level. She was aware of my long history with severe depression, anxiety, and PTSD, and she knows that I’m dealing with painful and frightening chronic health issues. Instead of looking to see if my meds should be adjusted or even just offering kindness and understanding, she sharply told me to look at the bigger picture and to essentially pick myself up by my bootstraps. I was trying to reach out for help, but instead I was dismissed and ignored, and she proceeded to the physical portion of the checkup while I was still crying. I spent the rest of the appointment trying to pull myself together. Thankfully the nurse that came in after her was very kind and helped me pick a different attending in their office to see for my next visit, so hopefully I will have a different experience at my next appointment, but if you’re in the market for a new PCP and struggle with your mental health, I strongly recommend finding someone else."

"Dr. Shah is just wonderful. I never feel rushed and her staff is excellent. There has never been a long waiting period during my visits. I changed from another internal medicine physician and I will NOT EVER change again!! She and her staff are what EVERY physicians office and staff should be."
