Reviews
"The store has some nice products. It's very well laid out. Employees are knowledgeable and personable. I took off a star because their idea of complying with Evanston's new plastic bag ordinance is to only use paper bags without handles. Yesterday I did a pick-up order. All the products were there and packed well, but I almost dropped the bags multiple times on my way home via train. Maybe it's because the pick-up order function didn't let me select that I was picking up in-store vs curbside, but it was absurd that I have to carry two full bags of groceries to the train station, onto the platform, onto the train then a few blocks home. Whole Foods corporate: Please let your stores have bags with handles!"
"Bakery and food bars have only gone down hill. I got a lemon bar the other day that was 90% crust 10% lemon every time I got a lemon bar this past two years the lemon portion has only gotten worse and worse. The food and price gouging that has been going on it’s tantamount to my last mental straw with corporations. I know what the Corporate ghoul there looks like and if I ever see them at the store I will be sure to give them and explicitly worded dressing down of this behavior."
"It’s Whole Foods.. you already know ow the review from a customer perspective. From an insider, The company doesn’t take care of their workers at all. Unless, like every other company you are at the top, have been there for years, or are good at kissing behind. I turned 3 men in for sexual harassment. One manager, and two different team trainers. I was left with a final warning and being harassed by other workers that favored the men. You ask HR about anything and they treat you like you are inconveniencing them. They give you a website to “give directions” on what you are asking for. Yet, my brain doesn’t work like this. I asked YOU to explain to me. Don’t give me attitude when it’s because of my labor that you have a job. You hide behind the scenes and don’t show your face. We are the face of the company. Gritting and barring it. The company was horrible through the pandemic! Especially in the dark stores! They treated us like we were slaves or prisoners. They only showed up to scare us out of nowhere. To get us in trouble. Majority of the management seemed to get off on doing things to make us jump. They didn’t want us to have community when we were all afraid and trapped there without other options. Definitely a company that needs to start holding their higher ups accountable. Yall go on company vacations, flown here or there, seminars, and various other things teaching about how to take care of yourself… but it never gets passed down! Y’all just sit in this euphoric circle jerk, and Pat each other on the back while the people who work in your stores and with the public can barely afford their housing, the food they sell, or any food for that matter. So many people are on food stamps yet they are at their limit, mentally, physically and spiritually. You don’t even accommodate people w disabilities! You literally make it harder on them for fun!"
"African American customer service person was extremely friendly and personable with the 2 white customers before me but unpleasant, didn't greet me or acknowledge me in any way. Acted as if it was a problem to return my Amazon purchase. Mumbled about logging in and walked over to the self service machine and began returning the package with my phone which I had initially handed him to scan the return code. Didn't bother to put the item in a clear bag as other stores have when I've returned items. Just slapped the label on this small package which could easily get lost. I am African American. It's amazing how some Black people treat their own. I left the store and most likely will not return to this location but felt a review was necessary. This is the Evanston location off Chicago. Very disappointed. I generally have good customer service at Whole Foods."
"Great selection of gluten free snacks, cake mixes, and a few bakery items like pies and frosted cakes. The pecan pie is really good."
