The rest of the staff at Kalona businesses were extremely friendly and so happy to serve us during our day of sightseeing in this beautiful town. "My wife and the whole family enjoyed the pleasant shopping experience of the general store. The pie is amazing but sells out early. The merchandise is dated, slightly expensive but is a can't miss opportunity to obtain dutch and farm themed ingredients and products."
"I remember going here when it actually was the general store with everything that a town needed including clothing and fabric. Today was different. It is a nice collection of community made products, many with the Best of Iowa label. I purchased candles and this wonderful cinnamon roll that only made it halfway home."
"Absolutely wonderful environment wide aisle's, very clean excellent service. The prices are so low it just doesn't seem real. Everything is fresh and bagged with easy to read labels. I can't say enough good things about this I would give it 6 stars out of 5!!!"
"They just reopened the restaurant-I got the pulled brisket sandwich with your choice of 2 sides out of 5. Very tender and generous sandwich, tasty with bbq sauce and pickles. For $8.99, a deal these days. Amish ‘tater salad and Cole slaw were very good. Friendly staff! Support a local business-I will be back."
