Wimberley Valley Museum

The Wimberley Valley Museum, located at 14068 Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley, Texas, is a unique institution that offers a glimpse into the rich history of the area. The museum is housed in the historic Winters-Wimberley House and features exhibits that tell the story of the early settlers, the mill operation, and the families who shaped the community.

The museum also showcases period furniture, including pieces created by William Carvin Winters, a miller and furniture maker known for his work at the state capitol. The Wimberley Valley Museum Committee, comprised of volunteers from the Wimberley Institute of Culture, is always looking for individuals interested in serving as docents. Docents receive training and have the opportunity to help visitors explore the museum during three-hour shifts on Fridays and Saturdays.
