"Where to even start. Phyllis Griffin and Mitch Mansions LLC. both need to take a hike. I am HIGHLY disappointed in the lack of urgency and response from both parties. To start with, because they felt the need to "expedite" the closing on 6 houses in La Porte and did not apportion the lots properly, I received the brunt of their mistake paying $8k+ in property taxes for myself and all of my neighbors. In turn, doubling my mortgage and KILLING my finances. As of last month, we all (our street) received papers from a law firm in Houston saying there are $28,000 in city and school taxes still due on ALL of our properties combined and now we are in a law suit with the county. The fact of the matter is that these people are careless and always respond (when they do) with "We are working on it." It's been over a month and nothing has been done. I will NEVER do business with either of these entities ever again and I hope no one has to go through this living nightmare that we have. This was just a WONDERFUl first time home buying experience. NEVER AGAIN."

"Horrible title company. Never have I had an issue with a title company until dealing with Homeland Title. I’ve been in real estate for over 28 yrs. Extremely unsatisfied with how Phyllis Griffin and Homeland Title does business. She did not properly disclose receipt of a real estate document she received from the buyers agent and added a fee to my seller on the CD before the real estate doc was ever executed by seller. When she was questioned about it she was rude and very defensive. This title company clearly does not operate as a neutral third party."

"I agree with the previous “horrible” review. They totally screwed up my taxes at closing and refunded part of the taxes that were paid by the seller back to the seller months later. When the county came after me for the taxes they refunded; they then tried to tell me it was a tax discrepancy and it was my job to retrieve the money from the seller. Who of course was MIA for several months. I finally hired an attorney to go after Homeland Title for refunding my money in error to the seller. Eventually, I got my money back. However they sent it regular mail to an old address despite the fact they said they would fed ex to my new address that I provided them. The manager Stacy has the absolute worst possible customer service I have ever experienced in my life. She made several errors during my experience and should have been fired for the first one because she REFUSED to make it right and continued to say “we’ve done everything we can possible do for you”! Funny how she figures out how to do ALOT more when she heard from my attorney. Should have never come to that...she should have been honest and done what is right to begin with. But then again, not everyone has been raised properly. Avoid this company at all costs and I emphasis costs. Because it will cost you to do business with them."

"We appreciate the fine job Vickie Smith did when completing our closing. She went beyond the extra mile to coordinate the many details (including the survey) between us, the seller and realtor in order to close on time. Although there could have been delays, Vickie's experience and knowledge of the necessary documents allowed our closing to go quickly and smoothly. We were in the best hands at Homeland Title thanks to Vickie Smith!"
