Located in New Braunfels, Texas, the Historic Old Town NB is a must-visit museum and tourist attraction that allows visitors to step back in time and experience the rich history of the area. The award-winning museum and event venue showcases 19th century German Texan structures that have been preserved by the New Braunfels Conservation Society.
As you explore Historic Old Town, you will be able to see an original Sunday house, visit an old-fashioned saloon, admire a restored 1907 REO automobile, and tour the music studio where Stefan Haelbig taught music lessons. You can also sit at a desk in a one-room limestone schoolhouse from 1870 and view tools used by German Texan craftsmen.
In addition to the main site, the institution also offers off-site historic properties such as the home of Ferdinand Lindheimer, the Arnold-Rauch-Brandt Homestead, the Buckhorn Barbershop, and the Gerlich-Wagenfuehr Haus. Visitors can book a stay at the Gerlich-Wagenfuehr rentals located in downtown New Braunfels.
