"Handlebar tried to hide the problem they created! Owner asked why resurrect the review? 4+ years w/o addressing the issue! ONE MORE opportunity to do so, yet, Nothing changes! Paid for handlebar installation, new Campagnolo cables & a comprehensive tune-up. Had to ride my 2nd bike until a Campagnolo Tech could review as they broke the shifter, would not fix or replace! Handlebar, a Campagnolo Authorized Dealer, incorrectly used Shimano cables, damaged one shifter body which required replacement and using Campagnolo Cables. All corrective work completed by a former factory Campagnolo Technician. If Handlebar wants to make it right, they should provide full refund for the improper work, replacement body, cables & labor required to right the wrong. Assuming Handlebar is willing & steps up, the review will be edited to reflect the effort. If things remain unchanged, I hope the review helps prevent others from similar issues, inexcusable breakdowns & unexpected costs. Details.: 4 years a Historic Downhill Trend. A Campagnolo tech went over Handlebar's work that included new handlebars install, recabling, tune-up, etc. As mentioned, after servicing Handlebar said the Rt Shifter was sticking, asked did I have a problem before. Answered, No. They said it was not working & needed to go back for Warranty check. My options: 1) Deal with the sticking Rt shifter 2) Replace the Rt Shifter 3) Send off Rt Shifter and wait 90+ days for replacement or told not warrantied, OR 4) Buy a replacement to hold me while the partially functioning shifter is sent and checked by Campagnolo. Handlebar would not step up and take responsibility. No replacement, no temporary replacement, NADA! Campagnolo Tech removed both shifters. Immediately noticed the root cause of the problem: Handlebar used Shimano cables. Shimano cables use larger heads. Thus, these cables caused mechanical issues, damaged the shifter assembly. Only solution was to drill it out and replace shifter body(s). Unfortunately, Statute of Limitations expired, thus, Handlebar made the $ on the service and I get to cover replacing shifter bodies and the installation cost. When I have been in the area, gone for a ride and back to see if anything has changed for the better...No improvement. The opposite. And, to think it was brief my go to shop because the owner knew Colnago, rode it and allegedly carried it and Campy, too. At that time, I road with the club and the shop had 3 solid mechanics. In time 2 left and 1 became part time which led to the problems associated with a comprehensive service by a tech, & an alleged Sr tech. Both were obviously unfamiliar with Campagnolo nuance. Handlebar installed new cables and said the shifter intermittently sticks. They said they rebuilt it and it still intermittently sticks. They broke it and I was asked to cover some cost to fix or wait 90 days without while Campy decides if the issue is warranty covered???? Either the shop broke it or it's a warranty issue as it was working fine! Handlebar WOULD NOT STEP UP. Had to go to another shop, one that is closer and stands behind their work. At the same time my best friend had his Campy SR crankset serviced. The chain ring screw was tightened far beyond the torque setting. Required professional service and replacement. Keep in mind my friend is an adept cyclist and mechanic. He built his bike, rebuilt his Mustang from the ground up, too. Sadly, it seems things have gone downhill at the Cyclery since Jay, store manager, left. My bike was returned with shifter damage, a stem bolt stripped, handlebars pointed downward, not in the same position which is odd given the exact fitting was done by Handlebar and on file.Campy rep is willing to be deposed as there is no doubt about the source of the issue, the liability. A $225 bill! My friends bike was returned with the crank bolt tightened, fused. NO SURPRISE the reviews on Facebook were removed as these validate multiple issues. Will Handlebar take responsibility or not? NOT. :("

"I decided to take advantage of a year-end sale on a Giant Defy Advanced Pro 2. When I did there were only XS sizes left at Giant and I think I may have been in between an XS and S size frame. I spoke to Yoshi about my wanting to purchase this bike. She spent an hour with me measuring me on the sizing bike. She would look at both specs XS and S to be sure. To be honest, some of the size translations were a bit over my head. Long story short she could have sold me an XS small bike and made a sell but no, she made the conclusion that a S was the best size for me. I was so impressed because I know other shops would sell you an ill-fitting bike no matter how much you paid for it. All because they would have thought the hour they spent with you was a waste of time. But Handlebar didn't do that. I expressed to Yoshi my gratitude and she explained she wouldn't like it if someone would do that to her. Sell her a bike that wasn't the best fit just to make a sale. Handlebar will always have my respect for that and I have since gone back several times. They are straight-up professionals at this shop. You might run into a person that learning the ropes but we've all been there. Be respectful and expect the same. Ensure you get an estimate and all is agreed upon. I don't believe they are in business to up sale or take advantage of anyone, but they are a business. Thank you Handlebar. Forever in gratitude. Jose Flores PS - I found the bike after much searching and had it shipped to Handlebar and they assembled it and went over it thoroughly for me to ensure I got what I paid for. Again, I expressed my wish to have bought it from them but they understood it was a good deal. No ill will from them. If anything they were as excited for me as I was. Thanks again, Handlebar."

"Can't appreciate it enough, we were greatly impressed by the gesture Todd gave us today. He made it so easy in selecting the right size bike for our kid.. He made us comfortable, gave us suggestions and adjusted the setting of the bike so well that ended up purchasing. Thanks much!! We also had a trail ride outside with all safety precautions. Highly recommended!! They also do service here, knowledgeable kind people."
