Aspen Dental - Brentwood, MO

"The service was fine, but their billing tactics are definitely shady, especially if you are trying to use insurance. They assured me that they took my insurance. However, they entered it into their system incorrectly, so I was billed the full amount. It took several months for them to correct my insurance information in their system. Over a year later I received another large bill for the same service. They have a negotiated price with insurance companies. However, they ignored this negotiated price, and tried to bill me for the full amount, minus what my insurance had already paid. Basically, they are trying to get paid twice. Also, when they send you their incorrect bills, they include a 20% discount if you pay your bill within 10 days. This is to get you to pay right away before looking into it and realizing that they are overcharging you. Please check with your insurance companies before you pay Aspen Dental anything! My experience was just for a basic dental exam and x-rays. More than a year later, I'm still trying to get the billing corrected, spending lots of time on hold. Fun. Edit: And the number they give you to call below is NOT a direct line to somebody who can help, it's just to the general billing number, which immediately puts you on hold for an undetermined amount of time and does not allow an option for a call back."

"BEWARE & STAY AWAY!! This company is based on how much money they can make a year! Not about the care for their patients & teeth. I went in and they told me I needed 3 root canals as long with numerous of other work. (Roughly $8,000) I went to my primary dentist that is a hour away and they told me that all of the problems that Aspen Dental listed was a complete lie. They were going to work on my teeth and do root canals/fillings when I did not need any of that. STAY AWAY! Look them up on yelp or any other place like I failed to do so!! I could continue writing how horrible this company is but hopefully this is enough to keep you away. Go to a real dentist office!!!! ( The care plan is a scam) Look up that as well!"

"After moving back to St. Louis permanently I was looking to finally get back in a good routine of going to the dentist. Aspen dental had later hours and more availability that worked with my schedule. I've only had good experiences with them so far! All of the doctors, assistants, and hygienists have been wonderful! And the office manager is great, and they sit you down and really go over the costs of everything with/without insurance. They are very transparent and I really appreciate that in a dentist since cost was one of the things I was most concerned about when choosing a new dentist. Would definitely recommend them!"
