"This store should be avoided at all cost and it's better to go to the Walgreens or Walmart that's further down the road. The store was an utter mess before they had remodeled, the merchandise used to be scattered through out the shelves and empty boxes could be found anywhere and everywhere throughout the week. After the remodel the cleanliness of the store improved aswell as the organization however one thing that stayed the same was the rude, unhelpful and lazy staff. I have been in Romeoville for 5 years and its always been the same three employees who have neglected customers and other employees. A short Mexican lady, a plus sized Caucasian lady who i believe is the store manager and a pimple face girl who claims to be a assistant manager. All three of these people have no respect for this store or the people who walk through the doors to buy merchandise and i've seen first hand how the staff does not help each other whether its long lines at the register to even customers needing help with finding products. I am appalled and disgusted by their behavior and hope soon that staff changes are made to better this store for the Romeoville community."

"Extremely rude employees. If you want to be treated like you matter, and have a great customer service experience, don't shop Family Dollar at the Romeoville location. I have been shopping this store for many, many years. They recently renovated their entire store and their Employees. I visited the store on Saturday December 23rd, at approximately 7:30 pm. I specifically went to the store to purchase swiffer jet pads, I usually buy the generic pads, but the brand name were on SALE; as their was was a SALE tag below the item which said swiffer pads 2 / 10.50, so I decided to purchase them. At the register while observing the scanned items, I said the swiffer pads are on sale 2 / 10.50 (exactly what the ticket said) the checker said yeah that's what it's coming up, I said no it says 2 @ 10.50, she repeatedly disagreed with me and said thats what its coming up. I paid and re-examined the receipt as there were other customers in line. After they checked out I showed her the receipt, and I said the SALE tag specifically said 2 / 10.50, so it should have come up 10.50 not $21.00. I would have just purchased the generic ones, but the tag said SALE. After arguing with me, for a few minutes, I informed her that, I do know how to add... the extremly rude employee, stormed off sighing and rolling her eyes, because I asked to talk to a supervisor, which was very unprofessional. We walked to the isle where the tag was and she asked "you bought this one" I said yes , she examined the tag, and said well if it doesn't come up that price which clearly said 2/ 10.50, there isn't anything we can do, stunned that there not honoring a sale tag that is displayed, I asked another customer in the isle if she would expect to get that price and she observed the tag and agreed that the tag said 2 / 10.50 and said yes. Manager insisted nothing she can do, so I said fine I'll return the swiffer pads and get the generic ones, and I said to this no more than 20 year old Manager...you should be honoring the tag, this girl says to me, "Somebody's in a bad mood" A Manager says this to a customer who was right. Unreal!! And yes now I am in a bad mood!!! So, I said obviously your young and have no idea about customer service....my mind was blown at how rude I was treated by the two employees. What the hell has happened to customer service. Any other store would have honored the SALE tag. I told her I would be calling the corporate office, and she replied I'm the Manager, I said I don't care who you are; at which point one of the other customers chimes in to tell me I was being rude, who has no idea how rude these 2 employees have been to me! So apparently it's okay for the employees to be rude but not a customer, who clearly wasnt being treated as a valued customer. I spend a lot of money at this store every month, but I assure you I will never go to this store again, they lost a loyal customer. And I will tell everybody I know about this Incident. And other customers who have no idea what had or was happening, should mind their own damn business, and I assure you if this happened to her she would been just as mad as I was. What we really need on this side of town is a real store that values their customer's."

"I went today to get a pack of water a loaf of bread and some chips. As I initially walked in all the employees where eating in the front near the registers and looked upset I walked in. Did not greet me nothing. I went in there quick and was ready to check out I stepped in line I was the first in line and someone was unback of me so there was two customers in line. The little Caucasian small pimple faced young lady instead of taking me first she told me “you could go to number two” which made no sense as she could have just assisted me I was first. I’m Mexican and she took the white guy unback of me instead of me that I was first. I spoke up and told her that was dumb and she kept telling me “what did you say” “what did you say” very unprofessional and uneducated. She stated she was the manger, if she is she’s doing a horrible job eating outside of the lunchroom and speaking to customers in that matter!! Racism is real!!"

"It’s November 9, sign in door with employee standing at d, 8:50pm store closed. I am a 20 yr resident of Romeoville, have always gone there, but after tonight,will never go there again."

"Clean neat store but feel like they are very judgmental and follow you around the store as if you were going to steal. A word of advice to the managers don’t judge a person on appearance and assume what may not be. I was not too happy with all the following around the store but did like the store was clean and organized and items were easy to find. I do recommend and hope management better train their workers. I will give this place a second chance in the future and hope they have improved their customer service skills."
