"I can truly say that finding Nativiti was a blessing. I knew that I did not want to give birth in a hospital setting due to the statistics of women of color and pregnancy complications and not being heard. From the moment I went on the tour, I knew I had found my tribe. Sarah and Jami and all of the staff at Nativiti are truly like family; they do not enforce medical practices on you, they provide you with knowledge to make informed decisions for you and your family. I have birthed 2 children at Nativiti and I would not have it any other way. If you are a woman of color and expecting or planning to have a baby in the future trust me this is a safe space. They held my hand through this process, and cheered me on as I accomplished my goals. I cannot thank them enough for making these moments the best of my life."

"My partner and I had the privilege of starting our pregnancy journey at Nativiti with our initial ultrasound to verify our pregnancy, all the way to our 6 week postpartum appointment. To say we are grateful is an understatement. I had known from the get-go that I wanted a natural birth preferably not in a hospital setting; but my partner, being from a medical family, was hesitant to agree due to his lack of knowledge surrounding midwifery. At our tour of Nativiti with Jami, every question was answered and he left feeling more comfortable. Sarah and Jami provided the level of care I had dreamed of. I had severe nausea/morning sickness my entire pregnancy, and not only did Sarah and Jami do everything they could to help, but they were emotionally supportive to me as well. I felt like I was more than just their patient, but a part of their family. I've never experienced the level of care that I received while at Nativiti. Every appointment until our birth experience I was left feeling more at ease that we had chosen the right path. Our actual birth experience was more amazing than I could have imagined. As a first time Mom, I knew there was a level of unknown factors that could potentially occur, on top of the pain/discomfort of childbirth, but Jami stayed with me every step of the way - supporting me, validating my cries, and holding my hand as each contraction occured until she placed our son in my arms. She made our surroundings calm and soothing, offered practical advise to my partner on how to help, and made our afterbirth experience a time I will cherish forever. I left our 6 week postpartum appointment today overwhelmingly thankful for Sarah, Jami, Alexis, Sam and all of our Nativiti nurses. It is a bittersweet day for our family, as we won't be seeing them on a monthly basis anymore - but we also walk away with an admiration for these women and what they do. If you are curious about if a birth center birth is the right choice for you, I recommend just taking the tour, ask the questions and you will see that these women do what they do because they love you and your babies like their own."
