"Honestly I used to love this place. But it’s gone down hill. Recently did a pick up order and ordered a brisket sandwich on challah bread. It came on white bread. Then we ordered beef in a pot. Barely any brisket. (Which I always get this soup and never had this issue) then they throw a whole potato in there uncut because it was RAW!! The slice of cheesecake for $6 is the smallest piece of cheesecake. I really used to love this place. But looks like I’ll start having to go elsewhere. Really not impressed anymore."

"What a old school deli, they have been in business since 1986, almost 40 years. The place is a little dated but the bagels and deli meats are as good as ever. I like that you can still get meats with some fats in them, that’s where the flavors are. Too lean and there’s not enough taste. I do wish their bagels are more denser and chewy too. Don’t get me wrong, they are very good but not as good as some in NYC or LA area."

"First time here. Heard a lot about this place. Not impressed at all. Service was great but that didn’t make up for the grease and burnt taste of the food. I’m a huge fan of corned beef. However the portions are small for the price. This could place could do much better."

"Never have we enjoyed blintzes so much. All of the breakfast items were delicious. Afterwards we loaded up on Jewish deli items and breads. Prices were reasonable and the quality of food was excellent."

"MAX AND BENNY'S is an excellent American deli with an East Coast bent. Noisy and joyful, this is a respectful tribute to New York City's Jewish gastronomic traditions. Service, except at the busiest times, is quick and efficient. The expansive menu offers a comprehensive selection of Jewish delicatessen, The excellent bakery's selection is both unique and delicious. The waiters are old school. They know the menu and willingly offer helpful suggestions. When stepping from the cafe into the "Take-A-way" deli, take a few moments to view the clever and unique cookie jar collection. Note: We find our way to Max and Benny's each time we visit Chicago's northwest suburbs. Our family loves the place. Being a vegan, I observe their joy as they devour bowls of chicken soup (with matzo balls) and corned beef sandwiches. My fresh-baked rye bread, vegetable sandwich is large and delicious. 0f course, carry-outs are offered. (How can you stop at a deli and not bring something home?) Lots of free parking. Everything is ADA compatible."
