"This spot is located within The Rose Hotel in Chicago. Thorn Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience both for breakfast and dinner with its delicious and fresh cuisine with an Asian twist. Thorn's menu is a fusion of modern American food favorites and a few signature Thorn Restaurant items. From classic Avocado Toast & Omelets to the fresh Poke Bowl and Seafood Flatbread. Every dish I’ve tried has had great flavor. Also noteworthy are the Greek yogurt bowls for breakfast! Thanks to Executive Chef Scott Wallett for feeding me great food at a convenient spot close to O’Hare."

"Presently staying at another hotel, but when I walked into here… now I want to stay here!!! A hotel with a cool restaurant! The food is delicious, like finger licking good. The smash burger is yummmy! Was browsing the hotel rooms while I was waiting for my smash burger… they look really nice and the prices seem reasonable. By the way they do their french fries just like I make them in my own restaurant… I run a paintball park with a restaurant up in Canada."

"I visited this establishment with a group of friends on Feb 24. All of our food came out cold. Tomato bisque should be served hot, grilled cheese implies that the cheese would be melted. Fries were cold. Chicken and waffles were cold to the point that the butter on them hadn't melted. Ginger ale was flat. We sent the food back. Server went to get the manager, Mike. He initially seemed nonchalant about our complaints, and then told us that the restaurant only had one waffle maker, and that could be why that wasn't at temperature. Long story short, I'm not sure what his assumption was of our group, I only know what I felt, and that was uncomfortable. His attitude improved slightly when he came back the 3rd time and he started saying the right things but energy does not lie. He ended up only charging us for our drinks. You couldn't pay me to return."

"We decided to eat here before attending a show and we were NOT disappointed! The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable with attentive upscale service. Since we had a long night ahead, we didn't want to stufd ourselves, so we decided to order 4 appetizers. Let me tell you that the serving sizes are amazing and the appetizers were delicious! The surf and turf nachos can easily be a dinner for one person! The chicken wings were HUGE and flavorful! I wasn't thrilled with the calamari as it was a bit greasy, but the Mediterranean plate was super tasty! We had breakfast the next morning, and I would 100% take a pass on the oatmeal. It was Luke warm water mixed in with instant oatmeal. The Krasinski, brown sugar, and almonds saved the day. We also got a Greek yogurt dish with fresh fruit, honey, cashews, and flax seed that was large enough for 2 of us to share. I'd highly recommend that!"

"The atmosphere was great! Alexis was very friendly and welcoming. Alexis seated our group and had a small conversation with us, answered our questions and even gave suggestions. Unfortunately our waiter left (her shift ended) in the midst of tending to us, without any notice. We had been waiting and looking for her to come back and she never did. Finally, we gained the attention of another waiter. Turns out, the waiter took over for our preview waitress. The food was good, the only issue is that some items came out on the cold side; not even room temp. Limited parking if you're not a hotel guest. But plenty of garage parking across by D&B. Overall, I would visit again."
