"The new owners of Mr. Wok are phenomenal, the food, the quality the freshness has really changed in the last month since the new owner Steve took over. The best Chinese food in the area. Give this place a try you’ll love it, great food. The eggrolls are Magnificent. The family owned a well-known Chinese restaurant on the northwest side of Chicago for over 30 years. And Steve’s bringing it to Carpentersville."

"I have been going here since 2008 at the old location. It by far was the best Chinese food in the area in my opinion. My go to was always the Generals chicken lunch special, crab rangoon, and egg rolls. there were also many other enjoyable dishes. I have been here 2 times now since the change of ownership. Not only is it significantly more expensive 35-40% increase the food has all changed and not for the better. I had my usual again today and it was not good. Not anything close to what it was. My wife and I agree we probably will not return. We understand price of food is way up so we accept that. The staff seems really nice. However, unless they go back to the recipes that has been Mr.Wok for many many years we are not willing to return it is just not worth the price increase for inferior food. this is just inferior food using the Mr.Wok name."

"We would order from Lin’s garden when we lived in Niles and now we will definitely be going back to Mr. Wok. Last night we had egg rolls, fried rice, and sesame chicken. It was great and we will be back. Finally have a place for some great Chinese food and more!!"

"I really wanted to give this place a high score. The people were friendly, however, I had an issue with my food. I had the Thai Chili shrimp with noodles and Thai Shrimp roll for to go. Unfortunately, the Thai chili shrimp, I thought were mostly onions and red bell peppers. The taste was good, not the best but it was not bad (will say about 3.5 of 5) The Thai Shrimp roll was the bad one. The peanut sauce was spoiled. The noodles in the roll weren’t fresh and I feel like it will also be soon not be good to be eaten. Inside the roll was just lettuce. Usually this dish include some other herbs - mint, basil. I am having a tummy ache right now. I informed them about the spoiled sauce but they did not offer correction. Again, they are nice people and said “ok”. I did not call back after I tried the roll itself. I mean, I am not hoping for the best for $6 thai roll but I am not expecting a spoiled one either. I hope this was just an instance as I had Mr. Wok from Carol stream and those were great. I hope they threw those ingredients and sauces away and no one will get sick."
