"We came here for breakfast and were lucky enough to get a spot at the bar. I would recommend getting a reservation prior to coming. They were very busy, but our food came out quickly and the service was great. I had the full English breakfast, a Bloody Mary, and a side of biscuits and gravy. I would recommend all. My friend’s osso buco hash was absolutely fantastic."

"A bit disappointing. We came here specifically to try the wings and tuna poke, both of which were not available or even on the menu upon arrival. The menu online had them listed as an available option. I know it takes work and effort to keep an updated online menu. It’s not a reasonable excuse, however, when places like Olive & Oak change their menu almost once a week and have no problem maintaining consistency between the online menu and physical, in-person menu. At the end of the day this comes down to negligence and laziness. We’ve been here solely for cocktails on multiple occasions and they never fail to please. A cornucopia of whiskies are available along with other hard to find spirits. The person behind the bar always knows what they’re doing. The food was okay. The mussels were fresh and aromatic. The scallops were cooked perfectly but they were a bit salty and the bacon in the risotto was hard and chewy. The burger was fine, nothing spectacular. The fries were soggy which is a shame because they appeared to be high quality otherwise. I would recommend this place for drinks but the food has a lot of room for improvement."

"First time to visit was a good experience. Food was excellent. Service was mediocre. Drinks were tasty. Parking in the evening was pretty easy. The location is a neat old building with simple table seating in multiple rooms and brick walls. They offer a rotating menu with a variety of great options. Would return!"

"Our first time here, the mood and ambiance were just what we wanted. The server was very busy, therefore service and wait time was quite slow. Nevertheless, he was friendly and helpful. The food was so delicious. I ordered the scallops with bacon risotto. I was going to order steak, however the server suggested something else when i specified well done, stating that it would be leathery. Perfect!! My guy ordered the mussels. Pumpkin cake with vanilla cream and caramel for dessert. Soo delicious. Red rum and bullfighter were scrumptious and I was tipsy. We definitely recommend."

"What a great spot for weekend brunch next to Lafayette Park. I Google searched for best brunch spots and Polite Society came up at a 4.7. Anything over 4.5 to me means they are doing something right and that is absolutely correct. Six of us shared a brunch meal and all left happy. The chorizo eggs benedict is a great variation to the breakfast classic. The home fries are cooked perfectly and the coffee strong and dark. Next time I would also add the bottomless mimosas. Kind, attentive, efficient, and friendly staff."
