"We went to Colonial today, Feb. 9, 2024 because of a 20% discount associated with Restaurant week in St. Charles. We had an enjoyable breakfast and good service, but on our way out a poster reminded us of the discount we had not received. We immediately went back in and spoke with the hostess who welcomed us to the restaurant as she had done when we first walked in. We told her about not receiving the discount. She went away for a short while and came back to tell us they had no way to correct the charge. She told us to mention this when we come back in and they would extend the discount to us at that time. That we did not need any thing to confirm this. First of all, the discount should have been applied automatically. Secondly, when we voiced our concern, the manager should have addressed it. We are not typically difficult people to deal with so we did not demand to speak to that person. Instead, our dissatisfaction grew. How will we get our discount if WE NEVER GO BACK? What business does not have the means to issue a refund on a credit card transaction? What business could not offer a cash refund or a gift card or a written coupon? We notice that there have been fewer and fewer locations over the years and we are getting a greater understanding of why."

"It was one of the best breakfast experiences we have had in a long time. I really wish we had a Colonial Cafe closer to us. Amazing staff, delicious and a lot of food, incredibly fast, fair pricing, family atmosphere, and did I mention the amazing staff? Highly recommend. We were so full, and we didn't finish our food. Going back for ice cream. Don't "shop around" for a breakfast location. Just pick here, it has all you want/need and more. Photo is of Swedish crepes as a meal. I asked for a side of hash browns, which is on the separate plate. We are already planning our next visit. Yes, everything was THAT good!"

"Food was great. Pancakes (original) were fantastic. Coffee was good to strong for my stomach but still hot and good. Only real complicate was asked for link sausage to be cooked well (burnt) done and it was just cooked. Everything else was great...."
