"First, let me preface this LENGTHY review with this...I am the sole caregiver of my 87 year old mother and 91 year old father.  My father had a severe stroke and requires regular linen, bed and clothing changes sometimes 2 even 3 times a day. So, as you can imagine I do a TON of laundry! Now the exciting part: On Sunday I thought the clothes looked like they were a bit 'soapy' when I pulled them out of the washer to go into the dryer. I just kinda passed it off, but early Monday morning (4:30AM) I started a load of laundry and confirmed that our 4year old Roper workhorse (GREAT MACHINE) was skipping the rinse cycle. I gotta tell you, I was panicked!  So, I immediately got online and Googled 'appliance repair near me' and I clicked on the link to a company that has stores in the area and ran television ads on WSIL-TV that I've seen now and again. Since it was so early I went to their website and filled out the service form and hit 'enter', said a little prayer that no one in Southern Illinois needed their appliances repaired but me, crossed-my-fingers and promptly got ready to go to my dental appointment at 8AM in Goreville. I was in the dentist chair waiting for my mouth to go numb and felt my phone vibrate indicating someone had called and left a message. Hoping it was the appliance folks telling me they would be able to help me, I quickly listened to the message only to hear they were 'booked-up' and only had a couple of openings between Wednesday and Friday of the NEXT WEEK!  The nice lady who left the message also kindly asked me to 'hurry and call us back so you can secure one of those openings'...OH POOP!  I knew right then, those precious openings would soon be gone forever. But wait for it...the nexus of a small miracle is actually about to happen:  Right then, my dentist's wife walked in and as we're chatting, I asked if she could recommend anyone who worked on appliances. To my surprise, she did and told me about Mid America Services (Carbondale) and she highly recommended them. With my temporary crown in place, I rushed home to call Mid America Services. Zack answered 'Mid America Services, how can I help you?' and I breathlessly spewed out my situation from my still numb mouth. He patiently listened and said that although they had no immediate openings available he would speak to his boss (Dave the owner) and see what they could do and politely put me on hold. "Sir" he said quietly, when he returned, "Yes?" I weakly responded. "We'll be there between 3PM and 4PM today. WHAT? I almost jumped up and down! LOL And then to top that off, David (service tech & humble genius) called about 130P and said he would come even earlier if that would be helpful....I said YES!!  As soon as he arrived, David jumped in and started the diagnosis process that would help him find the problem and within 15 minutes he had not only found the problem but had fixed the problem with a new part!  He also told me I should consider changing the stabilizer rods on the basket to keep the machine from 'walking' across the floor during the spin cycles. He ordered the stabilizers for the washer and a new belt, pulley and rollers for the Kenmore dryer too that had developed an annoying 'squeaky' noise recently!! So, I'll see David again soon once those parts come in.  But for now, I'm the Laundry King again! HALLELUJAH! !  I love small miracles!!
