"Here are the pros and cons of my experience living at Beacon Lakes… I will start off by listing the pros to be fair so that you don’t hear the unpleasantries upfront and decide not to move here. I’ve seen some reviews that were negative about the parking. I used a carport so I never had any negative experiences. This property has a great workout area. The grounds are well-kept. I never had a problem with the office staff or maintenance or anything for that matter. I lived there for 6 years and had a very positive experience overall. Good neighbors, good community, good location. I was lucky enough to have a great view overlooking the golf course. No pest problem whatsoever. On the very rare occasion that I would see a bug, it was obviously one that snuck in from outside. That’s going to happen once in a blue moon no matter where you live. There was a problem in my particular area with dog owners not picking up after their pets but that may have been one or two irresponsible owners. That does not speak for the apartment complex. Although I had no problems with bugs on the inside, I think that being so close to the golf course may have caused an excess of insects to accumulate on the patio. Once again, there is nothing that the apartments could’ve done about that, just my experience. There was a little bit of leaking from the roof since I was on the third floor where on two or three occasions the roof had to be patched in small places because of leakage from hard rains. However that was over the span of six years so it was not really a problem. It was also handled promptly by the office and maintenance team so… still not a negative. My one complaint which is a huge one for me (and the reason for the lack of 4 extra stars) is again not directed at the Beacon Lakes Apartments or it’s staff. The management company (Knightvest) partnered with a third party company named “Echelon” who artificially restricted our water pressure throughout the complex by 66%. It was claimed as “going green” but on the Echelon website , they advertise to community owners that they can turn their water pressure bills into a profit. They were literally going green as in the color of money. I understand free market capitalism but when it comes at the expense of people’s standard of living, they are doing too much. I literally had trouble washing soap off my hands, shampoo out of my hair, and getting hair out of my shaving razors was a nightmare. I recorded a video of myself turning on the hot water while holding my hand underneath the faucet and to the exact second, it was it 2 minutes before the water was hot enough for me to have to pull my hand away. This is the only reason that I decided not to re-sign my lease. The water pressure was actually one of the benefits when I moved in. I would have understood if they cut costs by restricting our water pressure by 10, 15, or 25%, but 66% is ridiculous. The office did send out a maintenance crew to make sure my water was “working properly“ but the unfortunate truth is that it was now working properly according to what they had done to the water pressure. It was not working properly in accordance with how the water pressure was when I signed my lease. They did not allow me to break my lease early nor give me a discount on the rent although one of the factors I considered while resigning my lease was the full functioning of utilities. I hope this review is in no way a negative reflection on the Beacon Lakes property or it’s office staff, but instead a reflection on it’s management company Knightvest, and I hope this review and others will cause them to think about it before take their renters for granted as they have in this instance. I know like they like to make money like everyone else does, but this is where people call home, even if it’s temporary. If I find myself looking to move in the future, I will NEVER sign up for a Knightvest property again."

"Only two con is this place has horrible parking and the thin walls. I mean the first two nights I had to park on the opposite side of the complex because there was nothing on my side of the complex. So I was basically forced to get a parking spot for my wife and I. Which is another $70 on top of my $1300 rent for a 1 bedroom. They really do need to do something about parking here. The thin walls I mean I hear every cooking prep, fridge shut, closing door, steps, tv, screaming, laughing, tapping, washer, shower, water dripping in the plumbing, sink being used, ect. They really need to insulate these walls. There is a lot of pros. Pet owners pick up after themselves. The property is in really good shape and maintained. The maintance takes care of stuff very fast. I had a a/c leak and they were there in 10 minutes. The gym is great with everything you need even a stair stepper. They have a movie room. The bathrooms are always clean. The pool is so nice. It has the hanging circle chairs and even a fireplace. All the furniture is maintained. The grills are always clean. They put on events all the time with a huge budget. The staff is very kind. I really like living here. The a/c works great."

"They’ve done something to the water pressure around the complex. They changed out the shower heads and did something to the toilet to “conserve water”. It’s AWFUL. But this extends into the kitchen and bathroom sinks as well. I used to fill up my baby’s bathtub with the sink and now it is going to take extra time because the sink flow is so low. The pressure is so low it doesn’t even rinse your toothbrush off well. It’s almost like there’s no aerator on the sink anymore? I’m not sure what they did, but I hate it. I don’t know about you but I check the water pressure before moving in somewhere, so to change it mid lease is infuriating. Can’t wait until my lease is up."

"Floor plans are the only upside to this place. Parking is atrocious. Other residents leave dog feces all over the place. Management puts more money into making sure this place looks dark and depressing instead of increasing parking spaces for residents. With the amount we pay in rent I shouldn’t have to shell out another $800+ a year to ensure my wife and I have a parking spot. Not to worry though, the management team will reply to this review shortly with a recommendation to contact them on paying them even more money for parking!"
