Reviews
"I had to leave due to personal reasons. Especially since the toilet and bathtub kept messing up. It’s not good to live in a place where you can’t even use your own bathroom. Had to constantly bother my roommate to use her bathroom. I moved out quick when I found out my toilet was going to keep messing up. Couldn’t live under those circumstances. On top of that, I have to pay $500 to leave and find someone to take over the lease when I don’t know anyone. I tried putting my unit on the recommended sites and kept receiving messages from scammers or people who lied about their identity. How is it fair? Why can’t the office put someone else who is on the waitlist or fix the bathroom before having someone move in. Had a bad experience living here."
"Lived here for about two years and moved out this July. This place is aesthetically appealing however you’ll quickly realize it is a facade. There are superior student living apartments nearby like Sterling and Avalon. Or, just opt out of student living all together. Location is cool, but no direct shuttles which is definitely something all the other apartments have. The hallways are constantly dirty with dead roaches everywhere and many residents will allow their pets to either poop or pee in these hallways or in the elevator, leaving the mess to be untouched for weeks on end. People will also just leave trash everywhere and management won’t gaf. Walls are thin, you can hear literally anyone walk by your apartment doors while you’re inside. Walls above are also thin, had to listen to my upstairs neighbor fight with her bf daily. Lots of shady marketing tactics to try to get you to renew, including unsolicited calls through the semester from office staff attempting to get you to resign and non stop texts. This apartment is extremely money hungry, as they will try to bill you for literally anything (even things you didn’t do). They attempted to charge me nearly $600 and it took about 10 emails (cc’ing the property manager helped) with video proof that I did not incur these charges. They also won’t email you back after stating all communication is through email, so be persistent and make sure you film an in depth video upon move out of your entire unit. You will need your own proof, as they tend to just run with attempting to charge you for anything. Film and document everything. Constant car break ins, my roommate’s car was broken into and Prado did literally nothing. She even had a reserved parking spot. Basically told her they couldn’t do anything, even though it’s their job to make sure people can’t access the garage and break in.. A water leak happened above my closet and when questioned about what would happen to the items I had that were damaged they quite literally said nothing and acted as if nothing had ever happened since it was the last month of my lease. In summary, Prado has a cute location, but the cons overpower the pros significantly. You can find better for less of the cost. Management definitely needs improvement. Save yourself the stress."
"honestly, the apartments are nice and the location is great. But they just let the people who live here do whatever they want. They allow people at the pool, screaming, YELLING, until sometimes 5 -6 am and no one will do anything. We had some drunk kids throwing chairs AT OUR WINDOWS AND BALCONY, it was so loud… it almost shattered my window. They were throwing things for about an hour. Enough time to take a bunch of videos and go crazy and still nobody came and nothing was controlled. Even though they would be held responsible for any injuries at the pool since it is closed and they just allow it. Also apparently the security guy he does NOTHINg to help. This is why I’m writing this. Literally its 3:54 as I’m writing this. There are people at the pool right now being so loud, I heard him just chat with them, laughing, and not doing anything and just let them be. Please Ricky, it’s almost 4 am … I want some sleep so please do your job. You seem cool, but as a graduate student who can’t sleep until 5 am most nights because of the people at the pool, PLEASEEE DO SOMETHING :( also they let their residents leave trash everywhere. Hallways smell awful. Would be really nice apartment if it was just better controlled. But… it’s obvious they don’t care lol but I mean… a pro I guess is that I can also be crazy at the pool until 5 am? So… if I ever want to do that I can but… I’m just not that kind of person I respect other peoples sleep."
"Horrible management. Be careful for move out because they charged my friends $900 and when I moved out 2 months ago, they charged me $2,000 on top of a $400 sublease fee. They found a sublease request for me and told me to move out in 4 days so I did not have much time to clean out my place. It was also during finals so a lot was going on. Imagine if I had not said anything. I was able to dispute some of it but they are unfortunately money hungry. On top of that, when I called to hear updates on the sublease 2 days before, someone told me that there was no existing request and to wait. But I called again the next day because I knew I wasn't mindless and someone else told me there actually was a request. They are extremely unorganized and idle and it has been like that since I moved in. I suggest moving to Sterling Heights, Campus Edge, or Hill Country Apartments."
"Take my word for it and don’t live here. It looks nice but it’s maintained so poorly and they make you pay the dumbest fees. Cars get broken into and stolen and random people go up to the top of the parking garage and smoke. Hallways have dog poop and pee all over and the elevator always smells like marijuana. Floors are paper thin so you walk one step and you get a noise complaint (after the 1st noise complaint everyone in the apartment has to pay 100$). Go live at outpost or Sterling Heights , not here, trust me. Update on this review- Moved out in July and made sure everything was cleaned and nothing was broken etc. no matter what they’re going to fine you for everything and have little to no proof. Worse thing is they say you can dispute it but only over email. You’re not allowed to call or go in person , but they’ll respond to you twice and then stop responding to you so you HAVE to pay other wise it goes to collections. Do NOT live here. They’re going to charge you full price for all charges even if it’s the littlest thing, you have dirt on the walls in just one spot $110, they’re gonna charge you for a new carpet for no reason $350, and you didn’t clean good enough -$200 , and then they say you had to repaint some other areas in the pantry split between all residents $97.50. They basically give you a fine and make you pay other wise it affects your credit score. They’ll ignore you and give you 45 days to pay . They also have a fake security guard in front of the gate (empty ford explorer tinted all around with no one inside) , this literally stops nothing."
