"I have lived here 3 years. Management has changed numerous times which shows there has been no consistency in anything like repairs (it took 2 years for them to fix a leaking ceiling)& to many to list. You can submit your claims of complaints with police reports but NOTHING has happened. I ve been to the office with several police reports, nothing has changed. What has changed is the increase of crime, homeless vagrants, drug dealers & several mailbox break-ins. There also been an increase of gang activity & shootings. Stay far away."

"My boyfriend and I first moved to these apartments in August ‘22 for our first apartment. We were excited until there was a sink buildup, water coming from the ceiling, and everything was clogged. We were told had we kept on with the water from our ceiling we would’ve gotten electrocuted because wires were exposed. Then our apartment caught on fire and they wouldn’t let out of our lease even though we were 3 months away from our lease ending. Instead they had us still paying rent for a apartment we couldn’t live in for the 3 months including the time they said they would get us a new apartment with the same price since ours sadly caught fire. Once we got the apartment they changed they price even higher since its upstairs. Today another apartment caught on fire behind us and was called in before it got worse thanks to my boyfriend and I. There’s also constant shooting sounds around the apartments and a awful sewage smell."

"Worst apartments, DO NOT RENT HERE! Zero stars! MY MOM WAS RENTING HERE AND LEFT THE APARTMENT IN GOOD CONDITION AND LEFT HER MOVE OUT NOTICE AT THE LEASING OFFICE. Since then she's been renting at a much better apartment complex far from Melia. Although she left her notice they are still demanding money from her. This doesn't make any sense why she needs to go to court and deal with this from them when she paid everything that was due and left on good terms. She went to court and the judge ruled in her favor but they're still demanding money from her. This has been a nightmare for her to deal with. Now she has $3000 debt showing on credit report from when she wasn't even occupying the apartment! This is just ridiculous. Management isn't doing their job here. If a tenant leaves their move out notice with the leasing agent or whoever is at the office and said agent tells the tenant you're okay and all setup then you need to honor those words to your tenant. If you move in here, keep all your documents and take pictures because they're so disorganized and always new people at the office. Melia apartments make it right by my mom. You all know she left her move out notice and left on good terms! My mom is a senior citizen and doesn't need to be going through all of this when one of your leasing agents dropped the ball."

"DO NOT MOVE HERE! If you like living in filth with rats and roaches this is the place for you! I lived with rats and roaches the whole year I lived there. Nothing was ever done about it. My boyfriend killed 3 rats in 1 week! It’s disgusting! The management team Jamie and Russ are very unprofessional and unorganized. There is no communication in the office at all. I would be told something from one staff member then talk to the other one and they would have no idea what I was talking about. I lived without hot water for almost 4 months. I had to boil water just to take a decent bath. Made numerous calls to the office and made work orders. Nothing was done about it. The management team never even communicated to me what the process was on when I was going to get hot water. No communication at all. I even made numerous calls and emails to the corporate office. Yet I still did not get a response from the corporate office about it. Very unprofessional. I ended up having to call Code Compliance to get hot water. I should never have had to make that call. Very unprofessional and unorganized again. My A/C unit went out for 6 days in the heat of the summer. The temperatures reached 113 at times. Yet it took them 6 days to fix the A/C unit and I was not even offered a portable unit or to stay in a vacant unit that had A/C. I am now currently being charged over $3000.00 for repair and maintenance fees for the cometic repair and upkeep of the apartment. There is an absurd amount of fees that they are trying to charge me. I should not be liable for. I feel that this is retaliation on their part because I called Code compliance and they got fined and ticketed. Once again, the management team Jamie and Russ are very unprofessional! DO NOT MOVE HERE! 9258 Culebra"

"Where to even begin…. Regardless of new management this place is AWFUL. GVA property management and their employees are unbelievably unprofessional and simply do not care at all about their customers. I moved out in Dec 2021 which was such a hassle because even after submitting my 30 day notice to leave I was told “No.” Why? Because GVA had failed to give me a letter to renew my lease and there is a clause in the lease that states if I do not receive one I can put in a 30 instead of 60 day notice. I had to jump through hoops and bring in a personal copy of my lease because they have lost my paperwork perviously. I have still not received my security deposit ($150 which they tried to say I couldn’t get back because THEY LOST both sheets of my move in/ move out condition forms) my pet deposit ($150 which I was told I would have to contact the previous property managers for my pet deposit) and when GVA took over last year they had overcharged me on a few different utility bills so I had a remaining $120 sitting in my domuso app which they use for tenants to pay rent. Well in Jan of 2022 they took the $120 and charged me rent then had the audacity to call and say that I was late and would have to pay a fee after arguing with the leasing agent Amber for several minutes explain that I no longer lived there and therefore could not be charged rent she put me on hold then hung up.( the same employee that bragged to the maintenance men about stealing hours because Andrea would never know and assistant manager Amber wouldn’t care) As you know from reading reviews these people NEVER answer the phone . So I had to go in person several times to try and get all of my money back. And while standing there for 30 minutes each time the employees will still try to ignore you. The new Manager Andrea did not care at all and only contacted me to know if I moved out already so she could try leasing it out …. Called GVA in Austin and of course nothing. Besides the extreme unprofessional staff the apartment themselves are DISGUSTING. They are not kept up with at all. There’s roaches, mice, silverfish, and even snakes. You will have water damage no matter which unit you choose, mine personally also has roaches that had been painted over the mail boxes are also broke into frequently … this place is the worst unless you have absolutely no where else to go and no other options I would suggest saving your money and sanity by looking literally anywhere else!!!"
