Dr. Bruce Eckel is a dedicated Pediatrician located at 2530 Scripture Street in Denton, Texas. With a passion for math, science, and children, Dr. Eckel has been practicing general pediatrics since 1983. He specializes in caring for children from newborns to 21 years old and has a particular interest in international adoptions. Dr. Eckel received his medical training at the University of Iowa and completed his residency at Oklahoma Children's Memorial Hospital. He is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and has been serving the Denton community since 1989. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Eckel is actively involved in teaching and community service. He is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the UTA college of nursing and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the TCU / UNTHC College of Medicine. Dr. Eckel is also the founder and director of the North Texas International Adoption Clinic, which provides medical evaluations for children adopted from other countries. In his free time, Dr. Eckel enjoys photography, panda bears, sports, and volunteering with various organizations. "Dr. Bruce Eckel was my children's pediatrician for many years until we moved away. He took great care with both of them for everyday issues as well as keeping my son (a severe asthmatic) out of the hospital on more than one occasion with in office treatments. He was always patient with my kids and with me and all my questions. You can tell that he truly loves children and doing what he does is his passion. My kids are grown and healthy now in part to the good healthcare they received at the hands of this pediatric office and mostly Dr. Eckel."
