About the Business
Alta Vista Rentals is a unique lodging option located at 702 West Polk Street in Port Isabel, Texas. This historical property, built in 1931, has been beautifully restored to its original charm with Colonial style architecture, arched entries, private covered porches, and a courtyard.
Our family purchased the neglected property in 2003 and embarked on a complete authentic restoration, preserving many original features such as oak flooring, exterior masonry, and doors. Modern amenities have been added, including central air conditioning, on-demand hot water, TV, WI-FI internet, and a swimming pool.
The kitchens and bathrooms are adorned with beautiful talavera tile and saltillo tile floors imported from Central Mexico. Outside, lush tropical gardens surround the courtyard swimming pool, lounge chairs, and umbrellas. An outdoor kitchen with a wood burning churrascaria style barbecue, gas grill, and bar is perfect for al fresco dining.
Guests can relax in the cool breezeway with rocking chairs and a hammock, or enjoy the outdoor fireplace by the pool on cooler evenings. Laundry facilities are available on-site for extended stays.

"I can't get over how wonderful of an experience we had at Alta Vista. We were a group of 4 adults, plus a child and a toddler and stayed in La Ciudad, Unit #1. Courtney, the owner, was so responsive to us and we had the chance to talk with her about some of the history in the area. really great pool, immaculately clean rooms, bathroom shower area and vanity sink give the area such a neat feel. air conditioned laundry area! kitchen was just right, with everything you'd ever need to make a meal; even bake a cake! just bring your food along! it rained one of the days there, so we just had a relaxing day listening to the rain followed by a movie night on the pull out couch bed. highly recommend, and will be back again! thanks for the memories Courtney & Ike!"
