"My appointment was at 10:20. Got a call at 10:15, as I was pulling into the parking lot, that I was one day too early for my annual wellness visit. Apparently last year I had one on 11/21 and today is 11/20, so the insurance wouldn’t cover it today. Rather than let me know this when I was in the office in June or last Friday when they called to remind me of my appointment, they decided to tell me today…5 minutes before my appointment time… The office staff I spoke with was incredibly rude about this major inconvenience. My mother is visiting from out of town and she and my 2 year old came to the appointment. It’s a 25 minute drive from my house to the office and it was raining as well. I also had been fasting all day for bloodwork. When the office staff came to speak with me, she told me they’re ‘trying’ to train their staff better and said that they wouldn’t charge me for the visit today (if they did, I’d report them for fraud since this is their error not mine). I told her that all this doesn’t help me now. She asked me what I would like her to do. I said I just won’t be back again and she slammed the window in my face. No apology whatsoever for their actions, but instead they were extremely rude and unprofessional. I had not been rude or loud until after this. I definitely became irate and did yell about how awful their disrespect was after this. I hope everyone in the office heard as that was my intention. I hope other patients heard so that they reconsider going to an office that treats their patients like excrement. Horrible experience today and will not be back, though it’s plain as day that this office doesn’t care. Wellness visits can be conducted online these days, so there is no benefit of dealing with this behavior whatsoever."
