"Almost impossible to get any service from them. Some assignments are 2-3 years out. Then there are the times when you are shuffled back and forth. You call one phone number and if you ever get anyone to answer you get routed to another phone number. Back and forth between a phone number maze."

"For the past year, basically since the pandemic started, I have been utterly unable to get MHMR to return my calls. Once I spent over a month periodically calling both the nurse line and my case manager because I needed to reschedule an appointment and was only able to get that done by going through the phone tree to the operator who manually put me through to my psych. This is in spite of the fact that I've been repeatedly told that I'm supposed to go through my case manager for that sort of thing and that I can call the nurse line at any time if I have questions. Never once did either party call me back at all. The only calls I received were appointment reminders and calls from my psych for the appointments themselves. Also, at one point, my original case manager quit and I was assigned to a new case manager and had to find out from the phone tree operator when I asked to be directed to my case manager. Not once did I ever speak to the new case manager. She literally never called me or answered my calls. Not only that, when I tried to call the head case manager to see what was up, she, too, refused to return my call. Over the past year I have slowly been losing my mind, wondering if maybe my phone was broken or perhaps I was wording my messages wrong. I began to feel like a ghost living in this world while being totally unable to interact with it. I understand that with the pandemic people are busy, but it takes mere minutes to return a call. You know how I know? Because today I called to cancel my last appointment, after switching to a different psych, and I was called back within half an hour to confirm my appointment was cancelled. I have absolutely no idea what is going on at MHMR, but it's absolutely ridiculous that I spent a year being ignored by medical professionals only to be met with a quick response when I said I couldn't take it anymore. Do not, under any circumstances, trust the bureaucrats at MHMR with your mental wellbeing. They WILL let you down. For what it's worth, my psych was extremely professional and had terrific bedside (Phoneside? Earside?) manner. If you can reach Dr. Palchuru without going through MHMR, I can't recommend her enough."
