"Visited for a routine check-up and physical with several inquiries. I was attended to by Dr. Salazar. Dr. Salazar not only addressed all my queries but also demonstrated exceptional patience, understanding, and directness. I am unlikely to seek another doctor's care unless necessary. The medical team exhibited a high level of friendliness and professionalism as well! I have found my permanent primary care provider."

"Long wait times even with an appointment. Got here 15 mins early and I’m still waiting 30 mins past my appointment. They close in 30 mins. Doctor is running behind on schedule apparently. This is always the case"

"Staff is nice, but oh so uninformed with no communication with other departments. On my second to last visit they apparently 'overcharged' me. When I came in to pay it they told me that it was corrected and I owned nothing (this after about two weeks of harassment from their billing department). Fine. That's why in my last visit I asked the receptionist to double check exactly how much I owned so this problem wouldn't occur. They checked and I paid the full amount. A week later i get a bill for an extra $100. Apparently something I wasn't told about cost some $190 that no one told me they claim. How can a customer, who asked for the full price of all their services, not be told the price of this? I've been speaking with collections since then trying to figure out how much I actually own since I'm being told by multiple people different things. A week ago I was spoke to them again and they said the case had been sent to someone higher up to evaluate and they would contact me again. They didn't so I called TODAY! They lady told me the case was still being investigated and I should 'ignore' the bills. This afternoon just a few hours after that call I got a bill in the letter. The amount I owned has jumped from some $120 to close to $300. The mystery procedure that cost $190 now costs over $300! I'm suppose to ignore this? When the cost they're charging me keeps going up ever week? Why are you doing this? Why can't you get charges correct? Why can't your staff tell us how much we owe when we're there so we don't get surprise charges. Why do you hate your patients? This is the only hospital with the specialists I need. I CAN'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Why can't you just be upfront with what I owe? Why do I keep being told different things by different people? Why is billing still trying to collect if the amount owned is under review? Are you actually doing anything? Update: 6/18/23 They still haven't called me back. The reply on this review was a lie. Months of lies and promises of a call back and nothing. Finally broke and just paid the balance. Was PROMISED that was the my total amount and I would not be sent any more bills. Two days later, this weekend was sent a bill (FYI, their billing is closed on weekends so I can't even reply to it). The whole 'pay your total amount at the office, but bill you l later, under the pretext that what you were charged was an "Estimate"' seems to be a very common scam tactic they use. This is the link to the Texas Medical Board to file a complaint. I will be writing a former complaint about UT Health RGV's questionable billing practices. I suggest anyone else who is suffering this problem do the same as it is VERY VERY clear they are not addressing the problem. Apparently you can't place links in these reviews but check the TMB website for the complaint form. Oh yeah, refusing to send a patient information release form too. Just add that to the pile, so I can't even go to another doctor about my problems if I wanted to."

"Went in person to pay my bill two days ago. Confirmed several times with the lady there that this was the total amount I owned. Paid it all. Got a receipt. Was assured that I owned nothing more and would not be harassed anymore. Got a call today telling me my bill was ready? For what service? What do I owe? I paid you already. This is a horribly run scam hospital that lies and refuses to contact patients back while hiding fees and charges in everything all while lying to your face that there are no additional charges, If you were not a medical facility that people were required to visit for their health you would not be in a business with all the scam like business practices you preform. Sending me weird links asking me to install god knows what onto my browser like a scam call center based in India. You all disgust me. You want to give me a bill? Try CALLING ME BACK! You won't because you don't care. You promise to call back over and over. Everyone I talk to promises they'll call me back. A supervisor will be in touch you say. NOTHING. Can I file a complaint with the BBB against a hospital?"

"Went 2 visits back in January to the orthopedic and both times I paid in full for my balances. I get a letter in the mail on how I have a “balance”, which how cause I paid in full the days of. I have my receipts but they are not itemized on what you are paying for the day of the visit. They then bill you an itemized bill stating that you have a balance. Not once did the receptionist tell me that I was going to have a balance afterwords because I did tell them I was paying in full. I’ve already called and sent proof of my receipts and all they said was what they charged me at the office was an ESTIMATE!! What?! How do you go somewhere pay your balance, somehow that’s an estimate and then you get sent a bill home? It’s unreal what they are doing in this clinic they are stealing from the people. When I went the first time I overheard an older lady going through the same thing but I didn’t think much about it since I was paying everything off. Well now I understand what she was going through."
