"The worst place you can go to. This happened to me last year ALL the staff was horrible, rude to say the least. One of the nurses was extremely rude by telling me what kind of stress can I have... he asked me something and I just couldn't remember I was in pain. They took more than. 4 hours to get me in a room. I went outside to get some air and they passed 2 people ahead of me . I went for less than 2 minutes. Once inside the room after 4 hours they still had me wait 2 more hours in the room by that time my chest pain was gone and decided to leave. I asked for documentation to say I didn't get treatment and they told me they don't do that. The lady in the front was another rude person she tried screaming at me saying I was lying about my pain. Yes like I would go and sit there just cuz. Overall it was a horrible experience and will never go there again."
"Worst hospital experience I have ever had. My foot was crushed and bent followed by a sequence of pops and excruciating pain. Throbbing, pain to the touch, and the worst pain I have felt in my life when putting weight on the foot. Sleeping was impossible without painkillers. They did x rays of my foot and determined bruised and determined I was fine to walk on it, as well as lift weights and run. My foot was not bruised, it did not receive impact or blunt force trauma of any sort. There was no significant bursting of capillaries. It was crushed and bent down the middle. And let me tell you I do not have a joint in the middle of my foot. I don’t know if it was a faulty x ray machine or incompetent staff or both, however this was completely incompetent and unprofessional service. … I’ve been taking good care of the injury. It’s been two months now. I am finally able to walk without limping but am not able to run. I think it would have healed much faster if I hadn’t followed the medical recommendation to use full weight on it after the injury, or if I had visited a more knowledgeable hospital."
"I’m from out of town but happened to be in Eagle Pass when I got a sharp abdominal pain on my right side. I saw that it was a Stat Specialty Hospital and since I’ve had good experiences back in my town with them, decide to pay them a visit. When I walked in I asked the receptionist if they did CT scans in case I needed one. They said yes. I made sure I asked because I’m terrified of ER visits that go nowhere. If I’m going to get a big bill no matter what, I want to at least make sure I’m going to be helped. I talked to the doctor and he recommended a CT scan. Unfortunately, he explained their CT scan had been BROKEN FOR WEEKS and could not do it. He recommended the ambulance take me to the hospital town, get the CT scan, come back to STAT, wait for the results, and then see from there. Imagine a specialty hospital without the adequate equipment to check people. It’s pretty outrageous. I said No Thank you and signed a waiver. I rather drive myself the way I drove here instead of getting charged for an ambulance service and being driven around town when I can go get it over there and stay there. The visit was beyond useless. Upon leaving, I asked the doctor AND receptionists if I would be charged for anything and they said no. Tell me why they billed my insurance $1,840 and now I have to pay $249. If only they were this good with their services like they are with charging people. Never again. I guess they LITERALLY charged me for opening the door and walking in to their useless facility. A facility fee charge. I would call it an ER visit charge but it was less than that. They didn’t even take my blood pressure. Anyway, good luck to you if you decide to visit this place. Ask all the questions you have and even then it may not be enough. I got charged $249 to be told the CT scan was not working."
"When your child is sick no matter what the severity is you want quick and fast service. We found ourselves at STAT emergency and everyone was so professional and helpful including the doctor who ordered the test needed to rule out problems and gave pain medication to my child. Thank you Dr. A chia one and entire over night staff! A special thank you to Nurse Letty who comforted my child during every medication given and IV started. Also for comforting mom. The receptionist named Leticia who went above and beyond to make sure we had access to my child’s records before we left and then went the extra mile to not only help me set up mine but printed out and handed me the visit from the year before that I was inquiring about. That was above and beyond in my book. In an emergency in the middle of the night? STAT Emergency in Eagle Pass is where to go. From walking in to walking out they treat you like family."
"WORST MEDICAL EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE. About a year ago, around May or June or 2022 I had already gone to a few urgent care centers in that week in Houston, Tx. None of them were able to help me at the time other than giving me steroids which seemed to stop all the pain/symptoms for a few hours before starting up again and had come to the conclusion that I was having some sort of allergic reaction to something in my home. Now, I am originally from Eagle Pass, Tx so I decided to go visit my family and have my house professionally cleaned and maybe see a doctor in Piedras. I immediately drove over to Eagle Pass as to not expose myself to whatever might have been giving me that reaction but could not make it through the night as when I got home, my face started swelling, throat closed so tight I could barely speak, the WORST pain i’ve ever felt in my LIFE coming from my chest/stomach, burning sensations all over my body, etc, etc. So, of course I head to this urgent care to see if maybe they can help me make it through the night before I saw an actual clinic/doctor in the morning. I explained to them my experiences throughout the entire week/showed them all the documents/prescriptions/etc., and very calmly explained that I was extreme pain and I knew they likely would not be able to figure out the issue so I was going to a clinic in the morning anyways but I absolutely could not stand the pain I was in. The head doctor as well as all of the younger staff who were assisting him (literally people I recognized from high school, which you’d think would be a nice sign) looked at me the entire time as if I was lying and questioned me several times if I was on drugs or just wanted drugs even after providing ALL documentation and literally not even being able to speak or breathe even. I tried to keep in mind that at the time I was a 21 year old man and I do have a few tattoos and piercings but that is absolutely NO excuse for the way I was treated. I calmly and nicely explained time and time again that I felt like I was being ignored and explained countless times what my experience had been throughout the week and that I would just like some help to make it through the night. The doctor would leave for hours at a time and would do tests in between (i.e. checking to see if my throat was swollen) and would repeatedly just laugh at me with the younger assistants beside him and would tell me there was nothing wrong. After HOURS of waiting I finally decided to stop being so nice and still calmly but sternly repeated that I once again just needed help to make it til morning before a specialist could figure out what kind of help I needed. They then accused me of being aggressive and gave FINALLY gave me what i’m assuming was a sleeping medication to “calm down” which they ironically enough refused to do earlier in the night because they were convinced I was a drug addict. After that entire dispute, I woke up finally feeling temporary relief, very annoyed but thanked the staff, checked out and went to Piedras to see a men’s health specialist. I wish I was joking when I say that within FIVE MINUTES !!! the doctor in Piedras told me I was experiencing a SEVERE UTI due to other underlying health problems I was unaware about before. I am now in a treatment plan that will last a few years due to a multitude of reasons as I am prone to UTI’s now and have to constantly take care of my liver, bladder, etc, etc, so I constantly think about this experience ESPECIALLY when I still receive bills in the mail over it. The worst part is that when my doctor heard what I went through he mentioned that I LITERALLY COULD HAVE DIED! I WAS GOING INTO ANAPHYLACTIC SHOCK BECAUSE THE INFECTION HAD SPREAD TO MY CHEST. I tend to be a non-confrontational person as I have a learning disorder as well as diagnosed PTSD and they took advantage of me and laughed in my face and could have KILLED ME. PLEASE BE WARY. If I wasn’t so shaken up by the experience at the time I would’ve done way more. There’s much more I could say but I have already hit the character limit."
