UMC - West Clinic

"UMC West is a first class facility. I retired here to El Paso, Texas in June 2019. The first person I met at the reception desk was MR Nathan Morales. He took great care of my wife and me. He has a great memory too. I have been to UMC West on several occasions throughout these five years every time I enter the clinic MR Nathan will greet me "hello MR Willie". What I like about UMC West is that the entire staff is friendly and professional, they genuinely care about the patients well being. DR Lindo and his staff are wonderful. He has had several a nurses and medical assistants throughout. RN Martha and Medical Assistants Coraino and Erika are very attentive and professional. I am a Veteran when I was making preparations to move to El Paso, I had to find a Primary Care Provider that accepted my insurance and was accepting new patients. The protocol for my Insurance mandates on board the military base first, then facilities immediately nearby the base. Fortunate for me neither of these two options were "not accepting new patients". DR Lindo is listed as a Physician authorized by our insurance and he was "accepting new patients". The jackpot for us, DR Lindo is always attentive, up to date on our medical histories. He encourages us to maintain a healthy lifestyles and he congratulates when reach our goals too. We are blessed to have DR Lindo as "our family doctor". I highly recommend this clinic. "Very fast registration and being taken back to an exam room. The M.A.s are super nice, and Dr. Tomas is awesome. She listened to everything I said and answered all of my questions."

"I was looking to establish a new PCP as I just moved here. This was one of the worst experiences I have had seeking medical care. I arrived 20 min early to my appt since usually I know there is generally paperwork to fill out. I was given a number (and no paperwork) and told to wait for it to be called. My number wasn’t called until about 11am which was 15min past my appt time of 10:45am. I signed a few forms and shared my insurance info and then was told to wait again for my number to be called. I had to wait another 50 minutes! I didn’t actually meet with the doctor until a few minutes before noon and not once during this time did anyone acknowledge the absurd wait time. To add to it, there was a RN in training that came in with the dr I was supposed to meet. It was mainly the trainee that spoke to me so I couldn’t even get a good feel for the dr I was hoping to use for my primary care. Also, the trainee came across as unprofessional during the evaluation. I was very rushed in the appt (probably lasted about 5 minutes). They sent my prescriptions to be filled which I appreciated and wanted me to come back for lab work and a follow up even though I said I was happy to get my records sent over as I recently had labs. I will not be returning to this facility."

"Everybody is so helpful and the care is top-notch. UMC saved my life from a combination of very severe illnesses. Sepsis. Ketoacidous, kidney infarction, a UTI that started it all. Thank GOD for UMC."

"There are no words to describe how disorganized chaotic and dangerous this place is. nobody is trained.transferred 9x.held 1 hr. you don't see the doctor!they call you five times to confirm your appointment?????they change the time of office mgr hides.The change your appointment without even telling you. the place is really effed up. get away from it. find anybody no matter the distance but don't go there...SCARY"
