Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital

"I would give this place 100 stars if I could. My husband and I came here for a routine operation In a surgery center. The day after the surgery he developed a massive blood clot in his throat. Not knowing Houston, I drove him to what I thought was the nearest hospital and it was hermann memorial. He stopped breathing in the ER room and they had to take him back for emergency surgery. The staff here is absolutely fantastic. They were very loving and caring and compassionate. My husband has never received This kind of compassion or care as this hospital gave him. Not being from Houston or even knowing where anything is at. We were very blessed to bring him here as from what I've been told, they have the absolute best medical team in the states. I want to thank all those doctors and nurses that treated him and brought him back to me."

"Visited a close friend for 24 hours the day she moved from Neuro-ICU to a private room in neighboring wing. Most elevators out of order creating long waits moving about the hospital. NEURO-ICU atmosphere and staff so bad (several new and in training, understaffed, very slow to respond, cold disposition...) my friend called me in tears asking to come after her brain surgery. She was scared and hey were not comforting or caring toward her. Staff even needed to come in twos to read her vitals? Ridiculous! Regular room staff was much better but no one told her not to lay flat to sleep ...very dangerous and caused swelling. More communication would be vital here, especially immediately following surgery!! Good food is appreciated, but that's not the priority for this visit."

"This hospital is the worst hospital I have ever been to. I was discharged with IV antibiotic and oral antibiotic to fight off the infection in my foot. I was discharged from the hospital a week ago and I have yet to get the desperately needed medication and I was told that they sent the medication and as of today the medication is still not at the pharmacy. I feel the lack of concern for their patients' well being is grossly inadequate and so is the physicians and nurses. I had to give one star to post this review but if I could give a -5 that would be correct."

"This is what I went through I was told by a doctor that I was okay to have my baby vaginally. I originally signed for a c section. I still had a c section. I was five cam dilated and I got an ephdiral. I still had contractions and they were coming every two minutes. I was in labor for 8-10 hours. There were a few nice nurses and a doctor who check my cervix. They finally prepared me for surgery, and I was losing a lot of blood. My husband was there and I told him to ask lot of questions. I finally got to do the c section. My husband was not in the surgery room. This may not happen to any one else. This is just my experience but the some doctors were nice after I had my baby. But I honestly I hope no one goes through what I went through."
