"Dr Joey has helped our daughter tremendously with his counseling and play therapy. Very patient and understanding man, with a sense that he listens to her and us with questions and concerns. We have seen a huge difference in her social skills, expressing feelings etc..Would recommend him to anyone looking for a child therapist."
"We originally found Dr. Joey through a list given to us by our pediatrician and were thrilled he did play therapy. Our son enjoyed going to him because of all of the toys, but unfortunately I had no idea how or what progress he was making. Dr. Joey did NOT communicate with us throughout the time we spent taking our son to therapy. We requested, at our first meeting, to set up a time to virtually talk about my son's progress and the time was never scheduled. After reaching out several times to schedule a meeting and not receiving a response and being brushed off, we decided to stop services. I was not seeing an improvement and had no way of knowing how to help my son since we were never given strategies to help at home. After canceling the therapy, Dr. Joey still had my son on his calendar and stated that we would be charged for not giving him 24 hours notice. I forwarded him the messages stating we were leaving and cleared that up. When I ended the sessions, I requested a copy of any notes/records taken during the therapy so that I could see what was discussed since communication was never opened up on Dr. Joey's side. We have now been out of therapy for 6 months and I still have not received what I requested. I've reached out by phone, email and either do not receive any correspondence or I get a "I will do it as soon as I get to the office" with no follow through. As a parent, my son's health is the most important thing to me and having a doctor withhold information is concerning, frustrating and it should not be allowed. I do not recommend utilizing his services if you want to know what's going on with your child. Several friends of mine have used his services and have the same complaints. I'd recommend looking for a therapist who is willing to communicate and work with parents openly and honestly. This is not the place."
"Dr. Joey is amazing and inspiring. Our child has a severe behavioral disability, and Dr. Joey’s help has been invaluable to all members of our family for many years. Even when he was without water or power during the recent week of winter in Central Texas, he still found a way to get enough charge to have our virtual meeting. I am truly grateful for having him in our lives. Thank you Dr. Joey."
"Truly cares about his patients and their well being. He has been so flexible with scheduling to allow for convenient times, and even continued to see patients via video conferencing during the pandemic! Very grateful for everything you do!"
