About the Business

Round Rock Head Start

Round Rock Head Start, located at 1001 East Main Street in Round Rock, Texas, is a school that is part of the larger Head Start program operating across two counties. As a leader in providing quality educational opportunities for children and promoting self-sufficiency in families, Round Rock Head Start partners with other organizations to improve access to services and maximize opportunities for low-income individuals.

Highly trained teachers at Round Rock Head Start use a research-based curriculum to create a stimulating educational environment for children aged 0-5, preparing them for success in kindergarten and beyond. The program also ensures that all enrolled children receive necessary screenings and follow-up treatments for nutrition, dental, health, vision, hearing, and emotional wellness.

Applications for enrollment in Round Rock Head Start can be completed via paper application and returned to any of the centers or the main office in Georgetown. The program runs from August to late June or early July, providing comprehensive child and family development services to prepare children for school and beyond.

Additionally, Round Rock Head Start is a part of Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties (OWBC), which operates the Child & Adult Care Food Program to provide meals to all enrolled participants at no separate charge. The OWBC Head Start Policy Council, comprised of enrolled parents, community representatives, and board members, meets monthly to provide guidance and direction for the program.

"I give this place 2 stars because of the staff and families that are served. The staff are all amazing at their jobs and they are all kind and friendly this is easily one of the best places to take your child or children. Staff and families actually deserves a 5 star. I would say the staff members also deserve management to advocate for their needs instead of being timid when it comes to higher ups. It’s been more than a few months sense they were supposed to get a well earned stipend for completing the CDA myself included sense the stipend was approved while I was there however nobody has gotten it and nobody is saying anything not management or HR it’s as though they wanted everybody to compete it before the state visit with no intention of actually giving the stipend to the staff."

"I came in this morning for an application to enroll my kids and the lady working the office dark skinned, gave me a really bad impression was being really rude towards my son everything he touched she would get mad and take it away from him immediately. I’m sorry but if you don’t like kids why do you even work with them."
