About the Business
Kids' Meals is a non-profit organization located at 330 Garden Oaks Boulevard in Houston, Texas. With the help of hundreds of volunteers each week, we are able to prepare and pack over 35,000 meals for hungry children in Houston. Our mission is to end childhood hunger in Houston by delivering free healthy meals year-round to the doorsteps of the city's most vulnerable preschool-aged children. In Harris County, where we are located, there is a high rate of child food insecurity, making it crucial for us to provide nutritious meals to those in need. By signing up to volunteer with Kids' Meals, you can help feed our future and make a difference in the lives of children facing hunger. In a time where groceries have sky rocketed, we have found true angels that deliver sandwiches, hot dogs, snacks and juices. My children always look forward to seeing the kids meal truck come by and they love seeing all the drawings on their bags! I homeschool my children, and it’s been an answered prayer to be able to have one meal a day provided for by kids meals. Every holiday, they set us up with extra food, they’ve given us so many books, school supplies and don’t get me started on the biggest Christmas miracle they provide for my children. It’s hard being a parent and not being able to give your children everything they deserve but the people at kids meals, the volunteers, make this world a better place and they make my 3 babies feel so special, loved and cherished. "I'm amazed that Kids' Meals will feed 2.4 million children in the Houston area in 2023. Simultaneously I find this amazing and sad. It was such an honor and privilege to work a few hours putting together lunches for young people in our community, and at the same time, I wanted to do far more to help benefit our future… Our children!
