"I have a child who excelled academically I had no problems. I also currently have a child at this school who is odd and adhd and this year has been the most awful experience for our family. Their has been a new principal on campus this year, and when my child’s psychiatrist requested my child to be administrator his medication on a daily basis back in January the school has been a living nightmare for our family. The nurse feels the medication is unsafe for my child refuses to speak to the psychiatrist office and has just made a personal opinion on the medication. She has stepped way out of her boundaries on this matter because I’ve called the FDA and they personally stated a doctors orders due override any nurses opinion furthermore this is not a narcotic and is a legal medication to treat his disability. I did further research and on the prescription website it does clearly state that this medication is for pediatric use as well as adult lower dosage recommended in which I keep my son on the lowest dosage possible. When I went through the director of student principal superintendent they are all wrongly supporting the nurses opinion and would rather have my child special education tested or I can bring him his medication daily to him. I have family taking time from their day to bring my child his medication and should I say he is excelling more than ever before with A’s and B’s. Parents if you have a child with disabilities there is a lot of codes violations and resources you have access to. Do not ever allow a school or district to mistreat your child. I am fully pursuing for the rights of future students and parents NOT to have to go through what our family is going through due to a nurses OPINION."
