"Most of the reviews for Rise are from parents who have kids in class, so I wanted to give my perspective as an adult taking classes with Rise. I started taking classes last month. I attended the first class for free. Everyone was welcoming, and the class jumped right into the lessons. I have no previous martial arts experience, but the lessons do not require experience. I joined in order to lose weight, to get in shape, and to challenge myself to improve within the bounds of martial arts and outside those bounds as well. Rise has certainly helped with those goals. Each class is a great workout. We focus on specific moves or sets of moves with each class, and I end each class with better form and technique than when I started. The instructors and my classmates are great at giving tips along the way to help me improve. After only a month of classes, it was time for belt testing, and I had learned enough to move up to a higher belt. As long as you are willing to give it your best in each class, you can certainly see improvement. Overall, I would highly recommend Rise for students of any age. It is well worth the time, the effort, and the cost."
