"This small school is a true gem! After searching for a long time, we decided to enroll our child and it was the best decision. We love the play-based learning environment, the amount of outdoor play, and seeing how much our kid has accomplished there. The teachers are caring and loving, and the parents welcomed us and made us feel a part of the community very quickly. We really get to be involved in our kid's education here. Plus, this is one of the few preschools accredited by NAEYC in Houston."

"As a parent who has had two boys go through the program (third son will start next fall) I can without a doubt say this is the best school and most developmentally appropriate school around! Poe Co offers a unique educational experience for young children ages 3-5 years. Not only has this school been a staple in the community for over 50 years, it is the first parent cooperative in the country to receive (and maintain) accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (N.A.E.Y.C.). The teachers are caring and engaging of all children at all developmental levels.The school community is full of involved and dedicated parents who want to see their children and the school succeed. Poe Co is a child-centered program that aims to foster the love of learning through play! Poe Co offers every child a learning environment designed to foster creativity, confidence, and independence. This environment supports the developing child’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth in a manner specific to the needs of each student. Children are encouraged to select their own activities, express themselves, and explore materials. "Poe Co has been a great community for my family! My oldest son has been enrolled at Poe Co for the past year. We plan to send my youngest son when he is old enough as well. This is a community if you are looking to be involved in your child's day to day activities and education. This is a parent cooperative which means there is a lot of parent involvement which isn't a fit for all families. We have had a great experience with the teachers. They are the heart of the school and work to tailor their lessons to fit the learning style of each child. We love Poe Co and hope you do too!"
