"Pathetic, disgusting and dangerous. That pretty much sums up the brief displeasure that was my experience at Zilker Botanic Garden. Luckily I picked a free admission day because it would be insulting to pay $8 for entry to this dumpster. It’s late February and while every other botanic garden in Texas has managed to find something to display, Zilker just has dirt and rot. Sidewalks and railing are crumbling there’s barely any signage and the map is a joke. You have to walk into traffic to even get in and the goons running the parking just shrug at you. The website has no useful directions either. It’s so bad it almost feels intentional like someone is trying to get this place shut down so they can bulldoze it. I had high hopes for this place but this is not an enjoyable place to spend time. I spent less than 20 minutes."

"Although we visited during the winter months the Garden was still very nice and quite relaxing. The Japanese garden was very peaceful with walks that take you around and through the ponds. It was neat to see the Koi swimming at your feet as you walked over stepping stones. The prehistoric garden had casts of dinosaur footprints that were found while the garden was being built. There are several different gardens to visit as you walk through-all unique and all very nice. A great place to spend a few hours."

"Cool place. Lots of walkways and things to look at. Lots of arches too for cute pictures. The fish here are pretty chill and the place is pretty well kept. The best part? Unlike its competition, the tickets here were fairly priced for all that you get to see and how expansive the land is."

"Beautiful garden!!! Lots of easy and moderate trails. Very serene and peaceful. And a fun kids area for kids 2-8 I'd say. (lots of musical instrument type sculptures to interact with, no proper playground) and only $6 for residents and $8 for non residents. $3 for kids. Super affordable and a beautiful park and garden in the city!!"

"Great relaxing space to explore in Austin! The gardens were all amazing, but the prehistoric was my favorite. There are plenty of places to sit & soak in the views of the city views as well. I got lucky with the weather (mid October), but there was a lot of shade & felt comfortable. I will definitely be back for another visit!"
