"Have you ever had such a good experience with a business that you wished you had a need to keep buying from them? That's been my experience with This Old Wood. We're in the middle of a mold remediation/rebuild project that has exploded in so many ways. One unplanned part of this project was to completely rebuild/replace our existing wood burning stove. The new design called for 2 pieces of reclaimed wood for a 2-sided mantel. The guys at This Old Wood took a lot of time to teach me wood world lingo and wrap my head around what was needed. I ended up finding one piece at another location, but still needed a second piece with a lot of specific measurements. I met up with Zack at the yard and we walked all of the planks until we found the right piece. He took the time to trim the piece up so I could have my local sawmill finish the work. "I went to This Old Wood to find wood to create a desk that would bring me joy. As we looked at different wood, I was directed to an old reclaimed bowling lane. I had to have it. My dad was an avid bowler, I just lost him to Covid. My grandfather wrote a bowling column in their small town paper, and my uncle was a bowling writer and his wife a pro-bowler. I was wanting a custom shape to fit my job tasks and a specific corner of my home. I drew up the shape and the guys got to work. The first run on the desk was cracking between boards and things just weren't right. The original carpenter had left the company...but... They came and picked up the desk and another carpenter took a look, did research on the type of wood and behavior and inserted steel beams hidden underneath. I cannot imagine the hours he spent making sure the desk was done right. They returned the desk looking WAY better than the first time, and I didn't know that was possible. It had a smoother finish and was gorgeous. They stood behind the work, went to extra lengths to make it perfect for me and to add in the sit-stand legs I had on hand. I love this desk. I love it every day, and I get to think of my dad a lot when I appreciate it too. Thanks This Old Wood."
