"Been to this place a couple of times. I really love their Maratang on a cold gloomy day. If you are having it for the first time, I wouldn't recommend any cilantro leaves into the mix and ask for the yellow pickled radish if they forgot to serve it. Spicy level 1 might be a good choice for the beginners."

"Try the stir fried version instead of soup version at Pixiu! I’ve been here many times, but just recently decided to give the stir friend version a try, and it’s bomb!! A common rookie mistake I’ve noticed is ordering too much, so be sure to tread lightly at the food bar since it’s all measured by weight. Another key tip is to opt for the 0.5 spicy level if you like spicy but not too much. 0.5 spicy here is comparable to the heat level of Xin ramen. I’ve tried the soup hot pot before, and I loved it, but stir fry is next level good. Highly recommend."

"Ordered level 1.5 spicy mala and it came out nice. You pick your own stuff on a plate, they weigh it (albeit including the plate), and you pay by the pound. I got two types of noodles, tofu, mushroom, and pork on my plate. Level 1.5 is similar to spicy buldak ramen, so i wouldnt go hotter than that unless you really can handle spicy. To add on, spicy here has more korean taste than the numbing type chinese spicy. Ended up paying $30 for the plate and it fed 2 people."

"This restaurant is near H-Mart in Carrollton, so it is a good choice to dine in after grocery shopping. This place is quite new and clean. Th only difference compared to other restaurants is that the bill (including tips) is paid at the beginning. Food is yummy. Malatang is Buffet style, and the charge based on the weight."

"Instruction is you go in, grab a bowl and tongs, and fill the bowl with whatever you want. Then they will weigh it, ask if you want meat, and how you'd like your food prepared. Spice level #2 is acceptable, unless you'd like to struggle while eating. Soup broth is strong, flavorful - I really liked it. Skewers were 99 cents each, and everything else weighed. You can dine for two with a great size bowl of mala soup. There's dry hotpot options as well. Sweet and sour pork was bland on the inside, too sour on the outside. I liked the crispiness. Not recommended. Service is excellent. The lady was very sweet & asked about your allergy to food and such."
