"I started going to Tony in 2018 for help with finishing a back piece I’d started with another artist a few years before. I’d had an exceedingly horrible experience with my previous artist, my back was far from finished and I dreaded the idea of tasking someone new with fixing and finishing my half baked tattoo. I knew I needed someone with the professional and technical experience to bring the piece home and word of mouth was that Tony had both of these qualities in spades. Tony was straightforward and honest about the condition of the existing line work on my back and what it would take to fix and finish the piece. He also suggested that we add to the piece and I’m so thankful that he did. His suggestion to add new elements to the piece renewed and enhanced it beyond what I’d imagined possible. I’m grateful that he helped to put my bad experience to rest and for his dedication towards giving me something that I am still thrilled with today. Last year I returned to ROA to start an arm sleeve with Tony. I had a basic idea of what I wanted (a big cat & a fire breathing toad) but I also felt like I needed his input on the best way to execute this. We discussed the style approach of each piece and how he’d cohesively bring them together into a full sleeve. We just finished the sleeve in November and I am in SUCH awe of it (pics attached!). Expectations entirely exceeded. So exceeded that we just started another sleeve in December. My experience with Tony and the entire crew at ROA has always been wonderful. There’s a tremendous overflow of constant creativity and a wide variety of styles going on in the shop and I look forward to working with several of their resident artists in the near future.
