"It is a shame that such a nice looking restaurant has such terrible food and service. I ordered the Cheese Enchiladas with gravy sauce, Mexican rice and charro beans. What I *got* was bare cheese enchiladas, refried beans, and Mexican fried rice. The wife's order was not only wrong but they completely forgot part of it. Wait staff with ADHD would disappear into the kitchen for 20 to 30 minutes at a stretch without remembering what we asked for or the drink refills we needed. Way overpriced, especially considering how things went."
"My friends and I had a very delicious lunch at Manditos. I had the three tacos which came with a choice of charro or black beans and Spanish rice. There was more than enough food to have a take home bag. There was also a $10 lunch special with many choices that also came with rice and beans. The chips were thick and crispy and the salsa was good. The service was excellent and the manager came to every table to see if we needed anything. We did not have to wait long for our food to arrive. The place is beautifully decorated with colorful booths, lighting and reclaimed wood to give it an old world yet trendy atmosphere. I had such a delicious meal and a good experience, that I am coming back again this week. I highly recommend this restaurant."
"Best guacamole I've ever eaten, and absolutely not stingy with the serving size. The chips were fresh and the red salsa was not too spicy. The ambience is relaxed and inviting. Koran the bartender provided world class service."
"I wanted to love this restaurant with all my heart. It's Tex-Mex, but sadly, the food is not the Tex-Mex I am used to. The drinks are awesome. But the food lacked flavor. The queso was the worst queso I have ever had at a higher end restaurant. The blood orange margarita was the best thing I had, and worth the price of admission. We had the chips and salsa. The beef crunch tacos and steak tacos al carbon. The best thing on my platter was the rice. The black beans were okay; the twice refried beans were good once I put some salsa on them. Like I said, the steak lacked flavor. The chips the restaurant itself touts as the best Tex-Mex Chips were really thick, and I only ate a couple. So, in conclusion, pricing is a little high on everything. The margarita was smaller glass for the price than I am used to. But drinking there is good."
"My husband and I had dinner here for the first time yesterday. Social Media worked its magic, because I saw their promotion for $8 banana splits for National Ice Cream Day, and was game knowing we'd be having a long day in sweltering heat. Service is pretty good. We were greeted enthusiasm, which as a millennial I don't expect but appreciate the effort all the same. One of the managers made polite conversation as he seated us. Our server and also a few other team members who spoke to us were kind and polite, and were on top of it as the restaurant filled in for the dinner service. Food. We both enjoyed the chips and salsa offered, they were aplenty, hot and salty and the more "tortilla" kind that I like, like you get from Cabo Bobs. I, me, myself, (and hubs) liked the salsa. So to each their own about salsa, Houston folks. We had the Queso Flameado with Sauteed Veggies- Yum I had the chicken flautas with black beans and rice. The flautas came out crispy, and taking a bite, I was pleasantly surprised that the chicken inside was seasoned and still moist. Good job, kitchen team. The rice seems a little dry to me, the black beans a little bland. But I've worked in food service, so I know that the opposite of someone saying that the food could use more salt is the person bemoaning it being too salty. Pick your battles. I also didn't mind the chopped salad? under/around my flautas, but it seemed like a lot of dry ruffage, so I'd suggest just for cost of the kitchen to cut back a smidge. Husband had the tacos al carbon (steak) and enjoyed them. He had the same feelings about the rice. He ordered the twice refried beans, and were not his favorite. I tried a bite, and liked the flavor. He felt it was overcooked. So you may just want to have black or charro. The banana split was really good, and maybe it tasted better because it was 1/2 off, haha. The banana has cinnamon sugar and a little heat of chili. I didn't taste any sweet mole sauce though. The Mexican flag colored sprinkles were a cute touch. It was a bit melted already by the time it got to our table, and not just because of the banana methinks. So be mindful to be quick, or delay the the ice cream plating until ready to serve, Mandito's team. But, we ate good, and never felt rushed or ignored, even as it got busier. The restaurant is aesthetically beautiful, I really like the colorful dishes, wall art, light fixtures, and the t-shirts the staff is wearing. (I'll take 1 tres leches shirt in XL please) and they have stickers for the kids. This was a good experience, and I hope with time it'll be a great one. I'd like to come back for fajitas that smelled great as they sizzled by, and yes, the tres leches."
