"I came in as new patient with insurance, for my yearly routine cleaning. This should have been a general cleaning and x-rays being the first time, as expected. My insurance would cover this in full as well. I was not shown any of my x-rays, just told what the findings were and what the further costs would be. I was also denied a regular cleaning because they wanted to do a deep clean on both sides, which also incurred additional costs. I was also told I needed to see a surgeon for removal of two teeth, something that has never been an option with other dentists. This visit now voids any free visits for six months. In 42 years I have never had a dentist try to find as many faults to add costs to a patient. Welcome to Texas!"

"Let me tell you my experience with this office. I'm on Medicare and sought out this in-network dentist through them. I went hoping to get x-rays and a cleaning soon there after. After the x-rays I waited for them to tell me when I could come for the cleaning. They never called and they wouldn't return my calls. I finally went in person to speak to them and they said they were not, in fact in-network. They put the blame on my insurance company saying they had told me wrong about them being in-network. Here it is 4 months after seeing them and I'm still trying to get this worked out because Medicare will only pay for x-rays once every 12 months. Today, I find out that Basswood Family dental WAS in-network at the time I did my initial visit but their contract expired shortly thereafter so when I went back, after them not returning my calls, they had become out of network. A reputable dentist would have known their contract was coming up and either refused my service or done everything they could to get me in before the contract expired. It appears they are only there for the money because they got paid for my x-rays and office visit and I got nothing in return. Now that they have done my x-rays I cannot get them taken again without paying out of pocket. They e-mailed me copies but no one will accept them. I've searched high and low to find another dentist but it appears I'll have to wait until next February. This may not seem like a big deal to most but besides needing my teeth cleaned I have a molar that is cracked in both directions. I've been very fortunate that the nerve hasn't exposed itself. But, when it does, I guess I'll have to find a horse doctor to pull it. Thank you Basswood FAMILY Dental. Jo Jackson"

"Dr Hans and her staff are absolutely wonderful! They are incredibly caring and kind. I have had great experiences at this office! I can honestly say I love my dentist! She is very thoughtful and she really cares about her patients. She is just so amazing. Also, Basswood Family Dental is reasonably priced, unlike other dentists I've been to. I won't go anywhere else."
