Trigg County Hospital

"This hospital was a very poor experience for us. As my husband was suffering a heart attack in the afternoon on a weekday in the spring, we were left waiting in the emergency room entrance for at least 20 minutes without a soul in sight and no place for him to sit. When an attendant finally arrived, despite obvious signs of medical distress, the attendant was more concerned with insurance proof for another 10 minutes. We live near this town and there were records in their system from previous visits, there was no care or urgency displayed. This hospital is not able to treat a heart attack and he was moved to a real hospital eventually by ambulance. The cardio therapy in the following months was very poor also, with numerous billing errors due to double billing for services. If you can choose don't choose Trigg County Hospital."

"Brought my father in after his lab test showed critical kidney failure, the entire nursing staff acted angry and where extremely rude to both my mother and myself. It was an extremely slow night in the ER with nobody else in the waiting room or even patient cars in the parking lot (I did watch several nurses walk out to car parked in "patient only" spots to sit and smoke), they would provide no updates as to when anything would happen or what they even intended to do, this is all at 4 pm on a Thursday afternoon, and ended up doing nothing but putting my father on an i.v. and transferring him to another hospital in the middle of the night several hours later. Absolute nightmare of a place, the rural hospital that you hear about on the news..."

"Their service takes forever. Any time iv been here except once their nurses have been rude and just seem to absolutely hate their job. Definitely wouldn't waist my time here if not needed."

"Absolutely horrible experience. I don’t even know where to begin. I went in for a laceration on my knee. Took way longer than it should have to clean and treat the wound. They left a cup of water in the bed which spilled on me. They didn’t return for over 30 minutes too, and didn’t offer to help clean or dry it. The blood pressure machine beeped at me for 45 minutes straight and nobody came to check on it. When I asked to use the bathroom they said I wasn’t allowed to walk so they gave me a plastic urinal which I couldn’t use without getting out of the bed because I couldn’t sit up. Then they brought me crutches which I could have used to go to the bathroom. They sent my prescription to my normal pharmacy but failed to mention that they were closed and would be closed the next day, so I had no pain meds for the entire next day and half of the day after that. They also scheduled an appointment with an orthopedic but failed to provide an address for the business. Funny story they have two locations. I felt like they didn’t care about me at all. They asked me at least five times for my insurance info but never asked if I needed a towel to dry up after they spilled water on me. I felt like a paycheck and not a patient."
