About the Business

The Shady Llama

The Shady Llama is a unique bar located at 18325 Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley, Texas, United States. Our operating hours vary throughout the week, so be sure to check our schedule before planning your visit. We have a house food truck, The Deli Llama, on-site, as well as occasional guest food trucks announced on Instagram. Our bar offers a variety of beverages for all ages, including beer, wine, non-alcoholic options, and kid-friendly drinks. Please note that outside food and coolers are not allowed, but you are welcome to bring desserts for special occasions.

Parking is limited, especially on weekends, so we recommend arriving early or carpooling to ensure availability. Large buses, trailers, and RVs are not permitted on weekends, holidays, or Spring Break due to space constraints. We are a family-friendly establishment, but children must be supervised at all times due to our natural terrain and wildlife. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome, but please clean up after them and do not allow them to stick their heads through the fence.

Our llamas have plenty of space to roam, and while they may make appearances at the bar, their schedule is unpredictable. Customers can pet and feed the llamas at their own risk. We do not accept reservations or host private events at this time, so seating is on a first-come, first-served basis during our operating hours. Birthday parties are welcome, but please adhere to our guidelines regarding decorations and outside food.

Weather conditions may affect our hours of operation, so be sure to check our social media pages for updates. We strive to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our guests, so please follow our guidelines and respect our policies during your visit to The Shady Llama.

"A short drive outside of Wimberley, but it’s worth it. They have a good sized parking lot and lots of seating options where you can enjoy a cold drink, a good conversation and some beautiful sunsets. They have some fun areas for younger kids. Even when the parking lot is almost full it still doesn’t feel crowded. Food is limited to one food truck with a limiter menu. While the food is pretty good a larger selection would definitely be welcome. The staff are always helpful and friendly. We are still looking forward to seeing our first llama there as we have missed them on previous visits. It’s a fun destination that’s worth trying out."

"I love the Shady Llama. It's so nice to sit and have a beer and look out over the Hill Country landscape. The food truck has good food as well if you want a bite to eat. Also, I was so excited that I finally saw the llamas the last time I went. They are adorable!"
