About the Business
Downtown Social, located in the heart of New Braunfels, Texas, is a unique institution that offers a combination of a bar, bowling alley, restaurant, and entertainment venue all under one roof. Our goal is to provide a one-of-a-kind experience for our guests, whether they are enjoying a delicious meal from our kitchen, sipping on handcrafted cocktails, playing games and bowling, watching sports on our TVs, or dancing to live music performances.
The historic building that houses Downtown Social was once the home of the Gerlich Auto Company, the original Ford dealers in Texas. Our location is just two blocks from town square and a short distance from the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers, as well as Schlitterbahn Waterpark.
We are open for business from Wednesday to Sunday, with varying hours each day to accommodate our guests. In addition to our regular business hours, Downtown Social also serves as a premier private event location. We offer a range of packages for private events, including corporate gatherings, birthday parties, bachelorette/bachelor parties, and more. Our venue can accommodate up to 750 guests, and we provide all-inclusive packages that include game passes, food, drinks, and dedicated servers.

"We were doing some Christmas shopping this weekend and picked Downtown Social as our new place to try. The menu looked great, as we're the reviews. The place is big and has a lot to offer even before you get to the food. Video games, bowling, and lots of TVs. We all decided on a burger of sorts with all the side options. The food seemed to take a bit to come out but looked great when it arrived. One of the questions they ask when you order your burger is how would you like it cooked. All three of us answered the same way. We want it done but not burnt or overcooked. With that being said, here we go. All three burgers came out overcooked and burnt. I could taste nothing but it being burnt. We were hungry, so we didn't complain to the waitress, and it had taken a while to get our food. I wish I could say the sides made up for the burnt burgers. They did not. They tasted like old grease and were cold. Unfortunately, our experience here wasn't one to make us want to come back anytime soon."
