"Had such a lovely evening here!!! We were on a motorcycle trip and wanted some food and saw that Tillie’s was located on a road that looked fun to ride down so we went for it. We arrived between lunch and dinner but were able to sit at the bar and grab some chips and guac to hold us over until dinner. Erik let me sample all the camp Lucy wines and then gave us a little history lesson on the property. The staff is trained on the rich history so if they don’t already tell you about it, ASK. It’s so cool. I’m Vietnamese and to recognize the architecture and then hear how the owners worked so hard to preserve it is really heartwarming. Zane was our waitress and she was awesome. Great vibe. All of our food was delicious and she recommended when end with the crème brule which she absolutely nailed. I fell in love with this place and I’m so happy we stumbled across it. We’re headed back to Canada but we are already planned our next trip down so we can stay at Camp Lucy."
"For our first visit went for the valentines special with specified courses with only the entrees to chose from(2).... overall the atmosphere and decor was top notch. Gorgeous. Although our food... extremely disappointing. the first bite was FOIE GRAS TART and it tasted like throw up, old expired tasting, yuk! then the scallops; we got 1 each, they were ice cold with no flavor. Moving into the POTATO CASONCELLI... that was PHENOMENAL. Tasted amazing but we both were only served 2 .. I was starving... Finally came the entree SMOKED BEEF SHORTRIB... top notch. best short rib I've had. For a $400 meal it was disappointing. They need to lower the price or increase the size of the meals. I don't know if we will ever go back..."
"I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and the servers. Dinner: we had Pierce as our server and he took such great care of us. He checked in with us regularly and had amazing photographer skills when we asked for a group photo. He knew where to stage us. It was all so thoughtful. To me it’s the little things that really add up. They also had someone come by with a platter of cut fruit for our water which I’ve never had served in that way. It was a nice touch. Food-wise the lobster pasta had a lot of lobster, which was good. I just thought the pasta was a little too al dente for me. Roasted cauliflower Caesar salad is a MUST. It’s so good and any restaurant that gets me to enjoy vegetables is an A+ in my book. They gave us a little champagne for a toast which is a lovely surprise because I love champagne :) Brunch: we had Asher as our server. He brought out a surprise dessert for my birthday. I was so appreciative of him for that gesture. It was one of the best cakes I’ve had. It was a not overly sweet key lime and pistachio cake. Everyone loved their entrees, which were chicken fried steak, mushroom toast and brisket hash. I felt extra spoiled for my birthday between the champagne toasts and candles on my cake and drink. Anyone celebrating anything special MUST go here. It’s a stunning building and the best service."
"The atmosphere is beautiful with the Vietnamese wood carvings all around the structure and interesting with the church statues on the wall. Our waitress was friendly and nice but super busy with many tables so we only saw her a few times; however, they had plenty of staff to help with refilling beverages and bringing out the food. I had a dirty napkin and asked the waitress to replace which she did. TIP: make a reservation on open table before you go. There was a family of 4 that came in the same time as us and they had to wait an hour before they got seated and they had 2 little kids. We had a 7:45pm reservation and they already ran out of the biscuits which was both surprising and disappointing since we didn't get to try. Our food started to come out about 45 mins after we ordered. It seemed like they were super busy on Sat night compared to Friday night. Salmon and potatoes - very very good. Love all the flavor combinations and you could taste all the fresh ingredients - smoked salmon, dill, crème fraîche, coriander, lemon and duck fat. Duck - tasted great and perfectly cooked but the carrots were undercooked and pretty hard to cut. I almost made some pieces go flying because I couldn't get the fork in. Pork chop was wonderful and perfectly cooked. We also had the brisket hash in the morning which was also very good. Overall great experience if you are not in a rush and the food is really tasty. Our favorite for the night was the salmon and potatoes - they had such a burst of flavor. And the fried chicken and short rib tasting during a Yelp Elite event was also really good."
"Came here in June of 2020 with five of my friends after hiking for 4 hours in a nearby State Park in the 105 degree heat. Needless to say all six of us were dehydrated and hangry lol. We were practically limping into this fancy restaurant at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon. Since we visited during Covid, there were hardly any other patrons and the Camp Lucy resort it sits on was practically empty as well. First and foremost, this is quite possibly the most impressive restaurant located in Dripping Springs! The ambiance is Rustic Southern combined with vintage European vibes. The Antique Chandelier on the Ceiling is the first thing you'll notice. Walking into Tillie's feels like you're Goldilocks who just discovered the only cottage in a huge secluded forest. The service here is very attentive and prompt but it may just be due to the fact that there were no other tables when we were there eating. Food is pretty decent, I feel like it's your standard brunch options with a twist. The highlight of our experience was the Prickly Pear Juice, the color of this (non-alcoholic) drink is a vibrant pink. I confirmed with our server this is its natural hue and not mixed with food coloring. Prickly Pear Juice was a refreshing treat after a long morning of hiking in the heat. This was an oasis for us so my experience is biased but I definitely think it's worth a visit if you're staying at Camp Lucy resort or visiting the Caverns a few miles away."
