"We just accidentally found this place. We were driving to Corpus Christi from Houston. My husband ordered a Hinze burger , it was Super Pathetic. It said Bar B Q sauce on it , it had absorbed into the bun , meat was overcooked , onions were not cooked , the only thing that saved it , I gave him some of my meatloaf to put on it. I had the lunch special , meatloaf with fried okra ( tasted like it was made in grandmother's kitchen right after being picked and washed) and blackeyed peas , had ham bits. A piece of homemade bread with REAL BUTTER!! IT was all delicious. My meatloaf was perfect it had just the right amount of onion and bell pepper. It was a thick, huge slice that could have been split and just added extra sides. It held together , even when sliced and had a very good sauce on top , bar b q , I think. We took a piece of pecan brittle to go . It was PERFECT , very buttery , and perfect crunch , not too soft and not breaking teeth. . Service was self-serve , they brought food out , but you got drinks and refills. Will stop again, if in area."

"Had a friend mention Hinze's Country Kitchen. Driving through Wharton, decided to stop and try it out. One of the best decisions we've made ever. Variety of entree's, desserts, and drinks. I settled for the fish and shrimp plate. Very reasonable prices for fresh cooked food. As you can see by our pictures it was mmmm, good. Definitely making it one of our favorite stops when traveling. Thank you, God bless"
